The only "sacred" numbers in Sacramento-era Kings history are 2, 4 and 21. AFAIC, nobody else was important enough for it to be a big deal.
I agree but I can fully understand the Bibby fans who are a little taken aback to see his number reassigned so quickly...

It would have been an immense sign of respect if Lue had thought of using a different number and then if he stayed another year, taking back what he considers his number which is 10.

I'm not saying it was a sign of disrespect as I'm sure he had more on his mind than the Kings fans affection for Bibby; ya know, like finding a house, etc.

I agree in principle, but it's not as if we have any young PGs starving for minutes, so I don't think it matters much. Udrih will get plenty of PT, and he's the only PG we have who is under 32 years old.

I see what your saying.. and yea Udrih will get alot of time, but i'd still like to see douby out there backing up the point.. give him one last shot to prove hes not the back up point of the future, and when douby is in we can run the offense completely through miller.. basically just let douby walk the ball up and play defense ( which i think is something he does pretty well )

do you guys really want them to play? personally i hope lue, johnson and wright never see the court... if where talking about williams here then yes, i hope he plays and gets alot of playing time.. but like i said i dont want any of the other players to step on the court.. it would be a complete waist of time.. we arent going to make the playoffs and playing vets at this point just means it will take even more time for the younger players to develope.. besides miller and artest(if hes not gone) ... they've earned it.

I Totally Agree!

We need Johnson playing backup PG.. we don't have anyone else, and it irks me when Douby tries to. Johnson has a good assist/to ratio.

No, we don't. We don't need anyone who won't be part of the future to waste any minutes. That last 31 games aren't about winning or losing. Kids have to play no matter what

More than good... an excellent A/TO ratio this year (4.7:1.2), better than any Kings PG in a long time... Bibby's first year came close, but wasn't quite as high, so I'm not sure who was the last to have better. Damon Jones, maybe?

So I do expect him to get some minutes. Beno's A/TO ratio this year is a very uninspiring 3.9/2.2.

I agree with you as far as the long term committment to winning goes. But what about those fans paying to see the last 15 or so games in Arco? Do they not deserve to see a quality product? It seems like sort of a conflict to me.
