Is Quincy Douby going to play versus the Spurs tonight (11/2/2007)? Last I heard he had a concussion...

Well yhere are differnt degrees of concusion.

There are, and this one was termed mild. But even a mild concussion I would think would keep you from playing in a professional basketball game 48 hours later. What happens if his scrawny little *** gets crunched again?

Well being cleared to paly and hitting the court are two different things. I would hope that if New Coach Guy has any questions about his condition he will sit him or minimize his min.

I'm wondering about that, too. I could see the little tweety birds floating around his head after that hit... so I can't even begin to imagine what Quincy could or couldn't see...

"How many fingers am I holding up?"

"Um... what's a finger?"

Athletes and concussions don't mix. Just ask Steve Young or Troy Aikman.

The way Theus sounded on the radio was that it was no big deal, like he didn't even expect to be asked that question. Like of course he'll play, why wouldn't he?

Interesting -- I wouldn't think you would do that if the guy really had suffered a concussion. Wonder if the initial report was wrong?

The definition of concussion is not hard science in some cases. I don't know the modern definition but in the old days, loss of consciousness, no matter how brief, was considered indicative of a concussion. Also perhaps a brief moment of disorientation would qualify.

If he had a concussion, it certainly was minor and of no concern in the long run. This was not a Steve Young moment although Douby might want to argue that point. :)

The initial report probably was wrong.

I feel better with my eyes back. :)
