Who's going to win it all?

I've been listening to the "experts" and I use that term loosely and they are very divided as to who they think will win the championships. Spurs are favorite but can they do it. I was saying Miami for most of the season but now I have no clue. This year it's much closer than usual. I was going to do a poll but I think Celt's had more than enough lol so I'm just going to ask for opinions. We have very knowledgable fans here who know as much, probably more than these experts and I'd love to know what you think.

As much as I hate to say it, I think the Mavs will win it all. Call me crazy but they not only have a lot of offensive power but they are now they are a pretty good defensive team too. I think with a healthy Shaq, Miami has a chance too and they will definately win the east. The Spurs are the favorites but I expect them to meltdown at some point again. If the Kings don't win it all, the team that I hope does is Houston.

Dallas does intriuge me. From what I have seen, they play D now. As the Rams showed us back in the day, if you have the best ofence and a passable defenece, you can win.

Obviously first and foremost I gotta go with loyalty and say my Sac-Town Kings! But after that I don't care who wins as long as it ISN'T DALLAS!! NOTHING would be more stomach turning than the look on that damn Mark Cubans face if his team wins the ring....And nothing would be better than watching Houston knock the Mavs out in the first round...hee hee hee...it's good to be evil!!

err that only applies to the pistons not the spurs. The spurs aren't the champs, the pistons are.
No, it applies to whoever looks to be the strongest team. That whole defending champion thing has always been bunk. Detroit isn't the champion this year. They were the champion last year. Certainly deserves some respect. In no way means they've won anything more than anybody else today.

So Brick, did you feel the same way about the Bulls the season following their championships or the dreaded Lakers?

They ARE the defending champions bottom line. They will be defending their championship and I think they will take it again this year. I don't care about Shaq. He was on the Lakers and they beat the snot of them.

No, because I thought those were great teams. But it had absolutely nothing to do with them winning the year before. At that rate every single time a new champion is crowned its a ****ing shock to the world because gee, how could the old one ever lose? That's ridiculous. Sometimes the former champ is the best team the next year. Sometimes they are not. That is all that matters. The Lakers were NOT the favorites in '03 as 3 time defending champs. Why not? Because they weren't the best. Saying the former champ is always the team to beat is just a crutch for weak analysis.

I can guarantee you... If Brad and Peja come back for the playoffs, Kings have the chance to win it all. Analysts say it all the time on tv, the only reason they dont see us winning it all is because we have a really battered up and bruised team. With Bobby, Peja and Brad back... i'd say the Kings.

Its more than that. Still no defense, rebounding, or post play. Its just probably not us this year. We have that same shot that any good team has, the "anything can happen" shot. But there's a lot more than just injuries holding us back.

PHOENIX will go all the way. They are the best team in basketball. They play average D and amazing O. Even in the playoffs they will average well over 100 points per game. Nobody....not even San Antonio will beat them. Phoenix has always pushed San Antonio to the limit in the past with lesser teams!

When we are in full force , and hopefully we will be once we take care of the Sonics, we are as good as anyone in the league ... except for maybe San Antonio, but unfortunately, that's exactly the team that will be awaiting...

Go Grizzlies!!!

The Pistons.
I agree. I hope they do it all again

Quite frankly I don't believe they are going into the POs as underdogs after winning the whole thing last year...and not just an underdog behind one team but behind 3-4 teams...

GO PISTONS!!

i'd love to say the kings, but something in me says thyre not. maybe its their defense...i dunno. i'd also love to say the sixers, for allen Iverson's sake, but that's also not going to happen. So really, i think it will be miami and phoenix in the finals, then phoenix wil end up winning it

Dallas has been the Kings weak younger brother for a long time now. If they win, it'll be a slap in the face to us Kings fans. I don't like the Spurs this year, especially with Timmy's questionable ankle/knee problems. With that, I'm going to say Detroit gets back-to-back.

Det, SA, LAL, LAL, LAL, SA, Chi, Chi, Chi. That's 9 defense oriented teams in a row. Phx will experience the rigors of playoff ball, I'm afraid. I hope I'm wrong though. I'd like to see them win, least obnoxious team from my perspective.

true but we have never seen offense like this for a long time..no defense seems to be able to stop it
Don't care. Defense will slow the tempo down in the later rounds. If they defeat SA, I'll be much more optimistic about their chances.
