Who's going to win it all?

#31
If it's Suns - Spurs in the WCF the Suns will have to do it in the half-court and they won't be able to count on spot up three point shooters being getting uncontested shots. Nash has yet to have a good game against SA this year, or for that matter pretty much when he was with Dallas.

You don't understand, Gargy... Starting last year, no matter what sport, if I picked a team to win it all they invariably went down to ignominious defeat at the very first oppportunity.

I think I may have actually set a record in the NCAA pool this year. I think I only picked about 6 right out of the original 64.

Ah-ha! Forget Gargy posted that.

Ignominious. Great word. I like the word insouciant, which means nonchalant. I hope to use that someday. Keep an eye peeled.

PS: Ain't it grand that we both want The Superlarge Star Who Will One Day Collapse Into A Black Hole Under His Own Gravity And Who Is Incidentally Draped In 3 Kinds Of Plaid to lose? Who woulda thunk it?

nash looked pretty damn good in the 2nd and 3rd meetings vs the spurs
Did you actually see these games or just look at the box score?

12/28 12 points on 4/14, 3 turnovers, 4 assists
1/21 16 points on 6/13, 7 TOs, 13 assists
3/9 11 poitns on 5/13, 9 TOs, 15 assists

And watching the games he struggled. Spurs limited his penetration and they stay on top of the perimeter players he likes to kick the ball to for open threes. most of his assits cme form paick and rolls and in crnch time Spurs shut that down. And there was virtually no transition game that is a mainstay of Nash's play. As a Spurs fan I'm far more concerned about Dallas than Phoenix.

true but we have never seen offense like this for a long time..no defense seems to be able to stop it
SA did beat phonenix a few times this year. also the spurs can score, the suns play no D, the spurs will beat them if they play them in the playoffs.

the spurs are going to win the title as long as duncan is healthy. if he's gone, they are too.

spurs over the pistons in 6

GARG...I have to say when it comes to your signature as far as the people who say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" that is also a pet peeve of mine, because if they actually thought about what they were saying it just does not make any sense....so on that note, I feel you! ;) :D

I did see the games which is why I didn't check the stats. With all that you said the Suns still scored over 118 and 107 in the last two meetings. Nash shouldn't be judged on just stats, his presents gives the Suns a boost and gets them going energy wise. He still racked up alot of assists and get his main guns the ball. Suns love to run and gun and get easy fastbreak points but they can score in the halfcourt set.

Nash,Marion,Amare, Joe Johnson, Jim Jackson are all effective in the halfcourt. They just are better on the break. Spurs may be the better team but they aren't a great road team this year and the suns are the only team who has homecourt over them which is why I think the suns can give the spurs the most problems in the west. Spurs are unbeatable at home but just above average on the road. Duncan isn't 100% and when you face Amare, thats not a good position to be in.

Suns are ranked 12th in FG% defense, just because they play a fast paced game doesn't mean they play zero defense. Spurs can't stop the suns offense and they are an average road team, they could be their downfall.

It's all conjecture at this point. My conjecture is that Dallas is the toughest team for the Spurs in the West and with the road the Suns have to travel they won't even be in the WCFs.

San Antonio if Duncans healthy enough. Dallas will probably come out of the West if SA doesnt. Youth, defense, and lack of a force in the middle rules out PHX in my book.

In the lEast, I think Miami has the edge over Detriot. I just dont think Detriot is as good as they were last year. The Giant Amuzing Orangatan (or the long winded description by Vf) isnt easy to handle.

detroit have the same record as they did last year and ended up winning 11 of 12. They seem better to me. Prince has improved alot which is why i pick Detroit out of the east

Lol, man. I'd call him The Giant Amusing Orangutan In Three Kinds Of Plaid And A Dumb Hat.

I think Detroit will try to bog Wade down and cut down his penetration while they let Orangutan do his damage with single coverage, like they did in the Finals.

PS: EmKingsFan, my sig revised.
