Who says Sacramento is a cowtown??

This is about 12 miles east of Downtown Sacramento, looking west. Took this picture today. I don't see any cows! lol

I have a video of a Lakers/Kings game from 1996, (Magic's 10,000 assist game). They show an outside shot of ARCO and , no kidding, there are cows grazing in the fields around it.

I remember stuff like that being shown. Now they show the Capitol or something nice looking like flowers or the Tower Bridge. Things are being built now by Arco though. Also, from my picture, there is a huge development being built just to the left of my photo. I was basically in between Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova and Folsom. It's getting very spread out over time. Some day it will all be connected by strip malls and housing I'm guessing?

I will be sorry when the rice paddies disappear, tho. Flying into the airport over the nearby paddies is so beautiful. The most incredible green. This shows a bit of what I mean (not my pic).

I was just commenting yesterday on how much the scenery has changed on the drive from Stockton to Sacramento.

That being said, as a native Angelino, it's still tiny and podunk.

Close. It was on Douglas Rd. near Security Park.
