There are several teams with a 2-0 lead. Which ones do you think will sweep?

Oops! I meant to add a 9th choice.....None.

Can a Mod fix that for me?

I really like LA, Boston, Utah, to sweep. I would not be at all surprised if NO and SA used the brooms aswell though.

I have a question.

If the Mavs and/or Suns get the boot do you think they should blow up their teams?

If they do, do you see your kings benefiting from a potential fire sale?

I'm not really sure the Suns are good trade partners for us because I don't see them dealing Amare and we don't really need any of their other guys(Nash/Shaq too old, Diaw too overpaid, etc) but I could see us benefitting from a Dallas firesale. Like I could see them dealing Dirk and blowing it all up, we could try to get in on that and pair him up with KMart/Ron and I think that'd be a really talented trio. Like enough to compete with the LAs and Bostons of the NBA. But I could see them saying they need to blow it all up and us trying to take advantage of that.

On Phoenix I want to say Barbosa but I dunno if they'd deal him, and I don't really know if he fits here considering he's more like a shoot first combo guard then anything.

lol, you must be dreaming. You expect them to give us Dirk without parting Kmart or Ron? What are we going to give them Thomas, Salmon and Mikki Moore?

Uh, no.

They might, however, be interested in SAR, Douby, Williams, and our extra 2nd rounder.... ;)

Thomas, Salmons, Moore = Thomas, Skinner, Williamson.

If Cuban has a Petrie-esque brainfart, it could happen :o

The only player I'd want that I think we could get from either of those teams is Brandon Bass. How much is he worth, and how much does he help?

I mean, Amare and Josh Howard would be great pickups, but we have to give up Martin (maybe that's worth it for either player, but we're talking about a package deal either way). Maybe my idea about Miller+Martin for Amare would work, but that's a pipe dream. And no problem giving up our best young swingman for the one of the two best young big men in the NBA, but probably not for another swingman.

I dont believe that the Suns and Mavs blowing up their teams is so much of a far fetched idea considering that their core groups have been totally unable to reach the promise land and they are not getting younger while the young teams are getting better.

Anyway the Mavs have a wildcard in the Jason Kidd 20 million contract which could come in handy to a number of teams. If the Kings are planning for 2010, should the Kings trade for Kidd? Amare, Lebron, Wade and a number of others could be available. What do you all think?

Everyone's predictions are still intact. The only team not 2-0 so far is the 76ers. Surprise! No one picked them to sweep. Lakers/Nuggets game 2 has just started.

Edit: Lakers are 2-0 now also. So, everyone is 2-0 except the Pistons/76ers are split 1-1. Now they change home courts. This is where it gets interesting.

The Magic and the Cavs have lost their chance for a sweep. They each lead their series 2 games to 1.

The only teams left with a chance for a sweep are Lakers, Jazz, Spurs, Hornets, and Celtics. The Jazz are playing the Rockets right now.

jazz and magic lost... boston will probably be the only team to sweep... im sure the nuggets could get at least one win if not both in denver... they probably wish they had traded for artest now... because kleiza and smith cant hang with kobe...

Lakers and Spurs are only teams to go 3-0 so far. Celtics still have a chance, but they are down by 13 with 9 min left in the 4th qtr.

Only 2 teams left standing (with a chance to sweep). Boston blew it. I did not think Atl could win a game. They are not ready to pack it in though. They're going to make the Celtics work for it.

Yeah, but you probably only saw Atlanta play two games all year. :p

I watch the Hawks nearly as much as I watch the Kings, and I wasn't surprised at all. In fact, I was far more surprised that the first two games were not competitive.

Good point, Mr. S£im. I saw more than 2 games, but not many more than that. :p

prior to the start, i would have said lakers and celtics; one out of two ain't bad. the suns should win at least one game even though they are currently facing elimination. if only nash could rejuvinate himself.

Suns beat the Spurs. Only 1 team left standing to sweep. It's the Lakers. Blech!! :D
