Heat have no chance of even getting to the Finals if the Pistons come alive. But if the Pistons falter and the Pacers really are much worse without Artest, then the Heat will make the Finals. But they won't beat anyone from the West. That includes the Spurs and maybe even teams like the Sonics or Suns.

Either way, I don't see any team in the league beating the Spurs. Barring injuries and other stuff of that nature.

I really doubt the Suns and especially the Sonics can get out of the WCF. The Sonics will be very fortunate to get out of the first round.

Well, I said the Suns simply because of the phrasing of the question and the fact that it's January...

Right now, if the playoffs started today, I think the Suns would have the best SHOT at the title. I think the team would likely to win, even if they don't have 1st seed or HCA, would be the Spurs.

Obviously, my heart says THE KINGS, but my gambling days taught me to bet with my head, not my heart. Right now, I'd say the Pistons will repeat.

I'm always gonna go with the Kings, if not the Kings than the Suns

the suns? that team with burn out nash..... spurs(most likely) or the kings(go mobley).....

The Spurs are the obvious choice right now. Suns are just built 100% wrong for the playoffs. Same story in Phoenix as always -- run, gun, have fun, play small ball, out in rnd 2.

Great rebounding, great shooting. You can't lose a game with that combination. Give a little love to the Sonics, maybe they'll cool off, maybe they won't. But they're as deadly a team as any in the playoff picture.

I voted Kings, homerism and all that, but with justification.

Can the Suns play in a half- court set? That is something that is essential during the playoffs, the ablility to play a slow tempo game and execute. It is something that we have really developed over the years and and we execute it well. Also can they play defense, (Kings might not play a lick of defense in the regular season but during a playoffs we step it up a few notches.)

Spurs aren't that great. Tim Duncan is great but Manu and Parker are inconsistant. The Spurs can't hit free throws and have a tendendency to collapse at the end of games or at critical times (much like we use to a few years ago)

T-Wolves- Don't count these guys out yet. They are struggling as of late but if the can remain healthy (a big 'IF"), they can compete with any team (just ask the Kings). Sprewell is as incosistent as ever and Cassell seems to be injured a great deal. What it comes to for them, which is very similar to the Kings is "Health" If the Kings don't win it all, I think the Wolves are next in line.

Sonics- I really haven't watched any Sonics games to comment on them. They are a run -n-gun, uptempo team as well, but can they play a half court, slow tempo game as well? Can they play defense?

Miami- Anytime you have Shaq on your team, you are considered a favorite to contend. They lack the playoff experience to get out of the first round, if you ask me, but Shaq will help them get to the ECSF or even ECF but they will get man handled by Detroit.

Detroit- Struggling till this juncture in the season, but they are the best "team" in the East. I think they will be in the Finals again, but this time a round a Western Conference Power will take the title (along with those ridiculous belts).

Indy- I'm unsure as to how they will place, in light of all the suspensions and appeals. Losing a player like Artest makes t very tough but I think they can make it the second round.

JM2C :)

i really don't think that the Kings should be a choice...cuz everyone wants and thinks the kings can go all the way...as a fan ya know....but besides the Kings im picking the Spurs...hands down...they know what it takes to do it

as for the Suns....i still have confidence they will have a severe breakdown once before the season is over...as for the playoffs i don't think they have the experience enough to really crack down every night during the playoffs and win...especially on the road

Here's hoping that Minnesota continues to flame...

Right now i'd pick Miami to come out of the East.

As long as the Spurs have TD and the supporting cast, they'll be the favourites.

We can still do it though :)

I know I know I voted for the Kings, BUT.. Phoenix is kind of dropping their way down now.. so.. yeah San Antonio is definitely one of the teams thats qualified for the championship. Seattle isn't bad.. forget about the wolves..although we can't ever seem to find a victory against them.
