This is the first draft in five years that I didn't have a pretty good idea who the Kings would end up with. That said, these are my choices. And I tried to pick players that I thought we had at least a small chance of drafting.
1. Brandon Knight: Not likely he'll be there at 7, but its possible.
2. Kawhi Leonard: He's a winner, and he fills our need at Sf.
3. Jimmer Fredette: I think he'll be a good PG, and would be a nice compliment to Evans because of his shooting ability
4. Kemba Walker: Another winner, who could end up being one of the most exciting players in the league.
5. Chris Singleton: Simply because he's the best defender in the entire draft. And because I really like him.
6. Alec Burks: Because of potential alone. He's been called the next Wade. He reminds me more of a Jordan when he came out of college. Not as good!
7. Klay Thompson: Probably the second best shooter in the draft. High basketball IQ. He could end up being better than Burks. Not as athletic though.
8. Tristan Thompson: If we needed a PF I'd have him ranked higher. Very young, and very raw. Not Whiteside raw though.
9. Tobias Harris: I think this kid is going to be better than where he's drafted.
If I had to guess, I think the Kings rumors concerning Burks, is probably smoke screen. Your not going to convince me that he's the BPA. He can't shoot, and even Walker, whose not a good 3 pt shooter, is a much better shooter than Burks. He may end up being better than some drafted ahead of him, but right now, he's not the BPA. I think it will come down to Fredette and Walker, with an outside chance that Leonard might be there. If its between Fredette and Walker, I have no clue who they might take. There's also the possibility that an international player may fall that Petrie really likes. So who knows.
By the way, its was tweeted that Biyombo has some sort of back problem. Rumors are that if he's not drafted at 8 or 9, he could fall all the way down to the bottom of the first round.
