Where is the free flowing offense?

It’s odd how every single person before the game said we need to run and move the ball and yet…..85% was 1 on 1 to Derozan. Don’t get me wrong derozan is talented, but he is a ball stopper. His style of play is the opposite of what we want. I don’t blame him for the loss, clearly the rest of the team deferred to him the whole time. This team needs to start over. Unfortunately, Vivek doesn’t want to rebuild, never has.

As somebody mentioned in another thread, I don't think DC is a great X's and O's guy. I give him credit for motivating them after the Brown firing and giving us a shot, but it's pretty clear that he's not a good technician or making adjustments on the fly. He got smoked by Kidd last night.

Agree on this. Really hated how we went away from the beam team offense. We changed our offense to a much slower pace with so much boring iso ball.

Even when it works/the shots are falling, you’re still taking everyone else out of the game because you’re making everyone stand around watching you so they never touch the ball or get a rhythm going.

We don't even have a PG so it's a bit unrealistic to expect a free flowing offense.

Then again, neither does Dallas and they looked fine.

I don’t think this was by choice. That team caught the league off guard at first but then the league adjusted and game planned against what we were running.

Williams is 100 percent a PG a modern one who broke down the D in every way possible he flipped the game

I liked the signing, thought he'd help us during crunch time. A little too much reliance on his ISO killed us.
As the season wore on, the offensive flow slowly but surely derailed from it to almost complete ISO ball, not winning basketball, and unwatchable.

I think you’re right to an extent. They did for the DHO (some of that was poor shooting/execution). Sabonis wasn’t shooting from outside last season either, which made it much easier to defend/less options on the DHO.

However, the fate of the fast pace play was sealed with the addition of Demar. He slows it down. Great offensive talent, but signing him ruined our hope of the beam team offense ever happening again. All we heard this season was “we need to play faster” and it never happened.

We really just needed to sign more athletic rim protection to make up for Sabonis and we could still play fast paced. Just isn’t going to happen with DDR. That signing changed our identity.

The thing that made Beam Team so fun was that it was a two headed snake. After the playoffs where Fox was proclaimed a Star in Waiting and "See we all told you Domas sucks" the team seemed to go in that direction to take the ball out of Domas's hands and push the superstar Fox. I don't think Fox is a superstar, nobody else really seems to. The last player power rankings before the trade had Domas ahead of Fox by at least one spot.

DDR was just the poison cherry on the crap sundae. Getting him to a "win now" team, since we are just f'd should be top priority.
