Where can Shelden or Mikki go and for what?

Shelden is a big bruiser who can rebound, has a descent mid-range jumper and is a hard worker. He makes $3.1M to $4.3M ending in 09-10.

Mikki is 7 ft and a really good free throw shooter and can fill a front court gap somewhere and is a very enthusiastic support on the bench. He makes $5M to $6.2M ending in 09-10

Warriors are overloaded with shooters (2 and 3pt) in the 2-3 spots. Douby doesn't seem to be improving his stature and isn't shooting very well so far this year. Kings have one too many front court bigs. Is there a Kings-Warriors match in there? Neither are going to the playoffs anyway.

Who else has some extra 3pt shooters that is in need of a serviceable front court big?

From what I have read in these forums if the kings want to have Moore on the roster next year he would command 5 mill however it would only cost 2 mill to release him. As for Shelden and douby just let them go their value is very low.

Their value, to us or to other team, is in their expiring contracts.

If we are unwilling or unable to move any of our big contracts to clear space for 2009, it might make sense to trade these guys to a team that wants to shed some salary (or get under the tax next year), and is willing to give a player (even someone who we bury at the end of the bench), whose contract expires in 2010. Our price for this favor could be draft picks.

The only people who would be unhappy with such an arrangement would be the Maloofs. For fans, it could be a huge plus.

On another note, wonder how beneficial our cap space in 2010 is going to be. It's early yet, but half the league is preparing itself for the summer of 2010. We might have to sit on our cap space for an added year, in the hopes of luring some good FA.

The answer to you second question is "Not Much". Undersized SG that can't play PG dont' draw much interest. When Douby's contract expires don't expect anyone to make him a offer, and if someone does don't expect the Kings to match it. (they still have bird rights)

Shelden's skill set is that of today's centers (rebounding & shot blocking) but he's undersized for a center and vertically challenged. Todays PF are scores first and then rebounders, and Shelden will have to come a long way before the trade deadline to be considered a scorer. Forget about uptemp team like GSW, and if he can't get time on a poor rebounding and weak interior defensive time like the Kings, well I don't know who would offer even a league min offer for him.

Basicly, Shelden & Douby must be traded by the trade deadline because they are expiring contract, and become Unrestricted Free Agents at the end of the season. Therefore, their probably only good as salary fillers this year, because they are expiring.

Moore's contract is overpriced for a backup c/pf with limited production even when given extended minutes which he won't get anywhere else. His buyout option will still cost $2m just to save $4M, so only a team over the Luxury Tax might feel its worth it, but only if we are willing to take one of their extended contracts.

Basicly we'll need to take on someone else's long term contracts, which will reduce our efforts to clear cap space in 2010/2011. I wouldn't expect to see any of them move unless they are part of a trade involving one of our core players and/or draft picks.
