When Detroit Moves a Big - Why not Us?

If Webber signs with Detroit (which all rumors indicate), it's apparent they will move either McDyess or Davis in return for a small forward and reserve point guard.

How about Thomas and Hart for McDyess or Davis.

That's just a treading water move. Unless, that is, Amir Johnson is involved and you get a look at a young power forward prospect, who is currently in the d-league (don't think they'd consider trading Maxiell).

Something like Pota/Hart/Garcia for Davis/Johnson

I'm really not understanding why anyone includes Thomas in any deal. Nobody wants that contract or that attitude unless it was to give up an equally bad contract/attitude.

I have read that Mohammed may be available and If they want expiring contracts we can send them Pot and Hart.

Mostly I included him because he's what they want a small forward (Not a big). he could also score and even shoot a little prior to this year.

BTW - NBRANS even went as far as to say Thomas is better than Webber at this stage of the game, so if Detroit fellas see that too they'd be getting a helluva deal, despite his sour puss.

Anyhow, just my opinion - but I'd love to see Thomas and Artest gone in any order in exchange for anything. A big guy would at least make us competitive. I think that we're in for a lot of blowouts unless we dump some dark clouds very soon.

^Well, at the time I said that Thomas wasn't stinking up the arena every night, so I might backtrack on that. And in any event, Thomas at $7 million is not as appealing as Webber at $2 million, or whatever he's going to get. So I don't think Detroit would consider a KT trade, particularly when they need to re-sign Billups in the offseason.

My thoughts are maybe Potapenko/Hart for Mohammed/Blalock

Mohammed gives us some more size upfront and is on a reasonable contract.

Mohammad is pointless. It's another treading-water move. He's not going to help us get over the hump and he's not going to help us rebuild. That's exactly the type of move this team doesn't need to be making. It either needs to be a slam dunk type of deal or something done with an eye toward the future.

This trade does not work salary wise. And the last thing a champion-calibre team wants is a guy who turns the ball over 25% of the time he touches it.
