Douby pick has nothing to do with Bonzi... plain and simple.
Ya when it comes down to it, I think NO is the only team that may go after him. We'll see though...they have an awfully young team and a couple of their contracts come off the books after next year when they will have even more cap room. I don't think Byron Scott and Bonzi would be the best fit, but they may take a stab at getting him. All in all though, I think we have a really good chance of finding a taker in a S&T.

I have that feeling as well. Maloofs have tightened their purses in the last few seasons and have tried to avoid luxury tax. I am yet to be convinced that they would all of a sudden be willing to fork out extra millions.I don't think the Douby pick has anything to do with Bonzi. But I'd be very surprised if Bonzi comes back. I think this is going to be Cuttino redux. Petrie will try and use him to get Nene or another big, and failing that Bonzi will sign with another team willing to overpay him. Kings will use the MLE and LLE and stay under the tax level. I seriously don't believe the Maloofs want to pay the luxury tax. I hope I'm wrong.
Well I did read in one of the Denver papers that Karl was quoted as saying they will have a serious look at Bonzi.Ok, so let's say the Kings want to S&T Bonzi for S&T Nene, let's also say both at 5 years @ 9 million. This is complicated, because Nene would become a Base Year Player. Since Nene would receive more than a 20% raise on his $3 million contract, his BYC number would be $4.5 million (the greater of half his first year salary or his old salary).
So I think this would work:
Kings send:
Bonzi Wells to Denver (5 years @ $9 million)
Kenny Thomas to Atlanta (4 years @ $6.7 million)
Outgoing salary: $15.7 million
Kings incoming:
Nene (5 years @ $9 million)
Najera (2 years @ $4.5 million)
Incoming salary: $13.5 million
Denver sends:
Nene (BYC @ $4.5 million)
Najera (2 years @ $4.5 million)
Outgoing salary: $9 million (actually $13.5 million)
Denver incoming:
Bonzi Wells (5 years @ $9 million)
Incoming salary: $9 million
Atlanta gets KT for free, Kings get Nene for Bonzi & KT, Denver gets Bonzi for Nene and Najera. Kind of steep for the Kings, but they get KT's contracts off the books.
An alternative would be to send Corliss and some other compensation to a third team, or for Denver to send Najera to a third team w/compensation.
I remember Najera from the Kings/Dallas series a few years ago, but what's Nene like? Is he a tough big that could cover for BM's soft defense?
Get Nene and trade Miller for Chandler and the Kings might have a nucleus for the next five years.

We could get Chandler for Miller, I think. All that rumor and talk through out the season and back in April/May. Chicago will need some offense in the front-court with Thomas there (he has a jumper, but don't know how much of one) as well as a veteran. As Chandler is like a bigger version of Ty Thomas. Brad would be a great compliment to Tyrus Thomas.
Just for fun:
Bibby/Douby or someone/Price-Hart
Martin/Douby/Buckner (gotta have another veteran wing with Bonzi gone)
Artest/Garcia/Buckner
Nene/SAR/Corliss or undraftee
Chandler/Potapenko (?, would rather get someone better, but wouldn't mind him still here)
KT gone for a PG? Or a back-up C and PG?... he'd be gone anyways.
