There have been several very good hoop related movies over the years...and not a single one that I ever had any interest in watching a second time.

okay, i think everyone is forgetting the instant classic....AIR BUD!!! duh.....j/k

I'd say the best is hoosiers, then white men can't jump....then i don't know if this counts as basketball or not....BASEketball with matt and tre the creators of south park....my heroes...so funny.

The Great Santini. The "1-2-3 cry" scene with Robert Duvall is classic. If there wasn't enough basketball in that movie to be considered a true bball flick, I'm going with...

The Air Up There. Kevin Bacon goes to Africa and helps a village keep its land by winning a game. During the game, one of the opponents gropes a female player and she throws the ball at his testicles. Great movie! It's no "Footloose", but still...

Just caught ESPN this morning running a feature called "25 best sports movies of the last 25 years", and I think it was telling that there were only two basketball movies on the list: White Men Can't Jump (at #13); and Hoosiers (at #1!!! (er not in my book). Finding Forester also made it in the list as #19, which threw me until I remembered the kid was a basketball player. In any case, that was NOT what the story was about though, so a real stretch.

I thought Hoop Dreams was just "okay."

White Men Can't Jump was fantastic!

But, without a doubt, the best basketball movie ever is "HOOSIERS"
