What happens if the season is cancelled? Would we get another year to get an arena?

Just wondering, was it time based or season based, It would be kinda unfair considering there are things out of Sacramento's control?

March 1, 2012 is the NBA deadline - or Kings leave not the new arena project. That's all we know and this community better not sit around wishing for an extension. The good news is if there's any good news nowadays, is that proposed arena project is to develop greater railyards site into a "destination," to be centered around a sports & entertainment facility - for more than just an NBA team.

The lockout has come at the worst possible time for us! :(

Lets just hope the lack of basketball does not meaning a loss of momentum in the efforts to get the darn thing done!

I think the whole entertainment and sports complex has grown far beyond the concept of being "just for the Kings." I don't think the momentum will suffer at all. In fact, to be totally honest, I think there are some supporters who will be enthusiastic about going forward without the Kings. ...

This. KJ has done an amazing job of changing the rhetoric regarding the arena from being Kings-centric to city-centric.

I agree! He's done a good job of making the new arena more about sacramento, than about the Kings need for an arena. The only impact that the lockout, and possible cancelling of the season will possibly have, is on the commited advertising money. Its hard to convince businesses to commit money for advertising at games that aren't going to be played. I don't think that will have much influence on the outcome of the arena deal.
