I see this team play and lose some close games and then we win a close game and I have to wonder if we just had that extra little something to get over the hump, we'd have one of the best records in the NBA right now. I know it's a young team and they're playing really good for a young team, but it'd be nice if we could get wins like vs the Nuggets more often. I don't mean I'd want to give up any of our young players, and obviously we have to wait till Kevin comes back until we see our cieling for this year, but what would be wrong with parlaying a vet like Noc or an expiring like K-9 and our pick or something for a guy who could really get us a few more wins. We're really close, and with the luxury tax and all these teams stuck we have an opportunity to really get a player probably on the cheap. I'm not even saying it'd have to be a big move, maybe it's just something like Noc for Brendan Haywood or another big man or something like that, but what could we do to get over the hump? AGAIN, I really like the potential of this team and nobody expected us to do this well this early. But I can't help but feel like we could do a little better.
As far as assets we could deal, how about Noc? We have so many wing players, especially when Kev and Cisco come back, we could ship him to a contender that needs a 3 point shooter and a defender. If we could get a big man or something. When Kevin and Cisco make it back, we'll have Casspi, Greene, Kevin, Cisco, Noc, and Udoka. All of those guys can play and not all of them are going to get to play. Kevin is a big minute player, he's going to take a lot of those minutes, Casspi/Greene are already starter quality and have turned out to be really important for us. Cisco won't have much trade value coming off his injury, he won't have enough time to showcase himself or anything. Or how about that first round pick? We have so much young talent with JT, Spencer, Tyreke, Greene, Casspi, Brockman, that we don't really have minutes to develop another rookie, or time to wait around on another rookie, and it's probably going to be between 10-15 anyway. Eventually you got to start consolidating your talent, or condensing it, and get another pretty good player. Or how about if we can get something for KT's expiring? With the emergence of Brockman KT isn't seeing as many minutes anymore anyway. There's a lot of teams in need of salary relief waiting to deal good players for cheap, just because a guy who makes the same as Kenny next season would cost them 14 mill vs Kenny's 7. His expiring is pretty valuable, and even though I like how he's mentored the young guys, it'd probably be a waste not to use it to cash in for another piece.
