What are you listening to?

Learned Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much Does a Dollar Cost?” was heavily inspired by Radiohead’s “Pyramid Song.”

So that’s cool.

Gave me a reason to listen to Amnesiac and To Pimp a Butterfly again too.

I'm considering picking up a cheap solo ticket to go see NIN in concert at the G1C. I couldn't name 1 song of theirs (that I know of) but love their work on various video games and soundtracks and, frankly, just enjoy seeing new stuff sometimes whether it might be "in my wheelhouse" or not...

Found a copy of Charlie Sexton's Pictures for Pleasure at one of my locals on my walk today. $5 seemed like a fair price in this economy. Looked pretty clean, put it in my ultrasonic cleaner and about to give it a spin.

Fantastic Bruce Springsteen concert tonight at the Chase Center!

Tried to post last night but obviously couldn’t.

Already had tix before the Springsteen concert popped up, and I was pretty wiped out after getting home at 2 am from SF and only getting 4+ hours of sleep before going to work, but I went to the NiNi concert at Harlows last night. Pretty good overall on her set, but I’m not a metalhead so the male singer with her was not in my wheelhouse.

Still, she was fun and entertaining.

Anyone have any Record Store Day must haves this year? I am not feeling this one but haven't checked the list lately. I'll probably go to at least two of my local participants since there's 4 within walking distance of me, but definitely not before the lines are gone.

I wound up grabbing a few items for RSD this year: Dr. Feelgood, Flat Duo Jets, Misfits, and the STP live record from the early 00s. Avoided all the lines and slept in and was pretty happy. My brother had a few items he wanted and I didn't see them. I went to three of the four local shops in walking distance and will probably visit number four tomorrow to look for used stuff. But I sort of blew my music budget for the month this weekend and on a few records I picked up at a show I went to last week (Ravagers and Clean Lines). All in all a fun musical week for me.

Caught this show last night in Reno - I had a professional event early today up there so I went up yesterday afternoon to spend the night and they happened to be playing at the location I was staying. While The Wallflowers aren't "favorites" of mine, I've always enjoyed this album so them performing it pretty much in its entirety and then playing the entire Tom Petty album after was pretty cool.

They sounded good, but during a live performance he sounds more like his dad than he does on the record (a bit) - a bit mumbly and hard to understand the words.

The opener was Aaron Lee Tasjan - never heard of him before but I enjoyed his stripped down set as well (just him and his guitar). Not *quite* my thing, but enjoyable.
