What about this?

Wow! What an idea. I can't believe no one has come up with that before?!?!?!?

Gee, I hope Petrie has Larry Bird's phone number. Quick! Somebody call Geoff Petrie, before another team thinks of offering someone for Artest.

no, no. thomas, corliss, o-tag for garnett. gives them a pf to replace kg and adds some defensive toughness with tag.

Eric Daniels & Greg Ostertag for Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady. STRAIGHT UP.

Actually, in early August Petrie will pull off this coup: Thomas/Jackson/Corliss/Tag for Pierce/Blount. You heard it here first.

Successful Scenario

Due to Minnesota and Sacramento being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota and Sacramento had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Whoa. It works at realGM!

Okay, now what do we have to do to get Minnesota to go for this? :p

hmmm....I don't know, but I'm pretty sure any scenario would have to involve something like kidnapping the Minnesota GM's kids & holding them for ransom, or something equally illegal.

BTW- I've been gone most of the summer, but I saw your signature -- is LoopyMitch okay?

love_them_kings, LoopyMitch is in the hospital after suffering a heart attack. They had trouble stabilizing her because she proved allergic to the first meds they used and it sounds like she had a second heart attack. Apparently, there has finally been some improvement. LondonKing has been updating us in the prayer thread in the lounge.

you guys really want peja out of here ... o boy

well you know what ... let's think about that after this season ... maybe his performance will calm you guys down

I still believe he can put 25 per game ... and that's if this team is not selfish

And yet I would respect him far more if he merely scored 20 but hit the boards, hit the floor, rotated hard on defense, and actually helped his teammates rather than asking them to always help him.

Its interesting how "not selfish" has somehow been conflated with "pass the ball to Peja a lot so he can shoot all the time". What exactly then is a player who shoots far far more than he passes, does not hustle, does not help temmates on defense, never takes a charge, does not show up in clutch situations, does not hit the floor, does not help on the glass, and has taken to standing in the corner and pouting if he doesn't get his touches on offense?

But one more chance maybe. I think skipping out on the big tournament in his OWN country was rather weasely (and that from somebody who normally has argued against him playing internationally every summer) but it does raise at least the remote possibility that this is the year when he finally works on his game, finally grows a pair, and comes back a new man who plays with heart (even if it only be for a contract). He'd better. Or the fans of this team, and the fans from Serbia as well, really need to find themselves a new hero no matter how many points Peja scores.

My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

I don't like to speak for other people, but I'm willing to bet that very few people have any concerns with respect to Peja's ability to score.
