What a disapointing effort

I have rarely turned a Kings game off before it reached its conclusion in my years as a fan, but I did tonight with about 6 minutes to go.

I can handle a loss when we play hard, but at NO point tonight did we play hard. At NO time tonight did we play with energy. At NO time tonight did we commit to playing defense. And at NO time tonight did we get into any sort of offensive flow.

Ron played his worst game as a King tonight. No defensive energy, Kobe had his way against him, and he took several VERY BAD three point attempts. Kenny, Brad, SAR and Kevin were not at all assertive tonight. Bibby struggled and forced too many bad threes.

Overall, a disgusting perfromance tonight. Sacrificing offense in the name of defense doesn't work when you give up over 100 points and let the other team shoot well over 50% in the second half.

We showed tonight that we will not be a playoff team because we do not know how to bring energy on the road...

Napear jinxed us. He said before the game, "Well either way tomorrow we won't be talking about a lack of effort.". Way to go Grant.

Hope he doesnt throw that little line out at the NEXT meeting between these two teams on Mar. 14th, I'll be there;)

The optimist in me says, "It's just 1 game"
the King's fan in me says, "BUT it was the LAKERS!!!"
The basketball fan in me says, "We looked awful tonight. Horrible game."

You would think I had multiple personalities. Everybody just looked way off tonight. I wonder what teh distraction was? Trading Skinner could not have been that big of a blow. I was really disappointed tonight. Something just seemed VERY WRONG.

Honestly, I don't think its that they don't care. I have to remind myself that this is a team that is in full blown rebuild mode. When a team is not in sync and is getting frustrated, because they are out of sync, it can look like they don't care. But I think they care very much. They just haven't learned to play together as a team yet and it shows up the most on the road.

Pathetic and no will whatsoever for trying to make the playoffs. Tonight i was so disgusted that I actually threw my lamp at the T.V. and broke it. I would love to get my hands on Miller and find out why a 7 footer is jackin up 3's like he is Reggie Miller. We seriously need to find a backup PG as soon as possible while we still have some dignity left. If I were Rick --some serious spanking would be in order.

Even Adelman looked distant and uninterested.

If they're not going to care, then we're not going to care and then we'll have some serious issues at hand.

This is very true. Hopefully these guys are given the chance to play together for awhile. Use the rest of this season to try and learn everything. I think just trying to make the playoffs is the wrong way of looking at it. They should spend more time just running through plays and gaining experience. This team more than likely isn't going to make the playoffs, unless they can bring the road record to around .500, and that doesn't seem too likely.

Gear up for next season sounds like the best option for me.

i wish the lakers would drop from the face of the earth, they are the team that only has Kobe yet they are the 8th seed while we have Artest, Bibby, Reef and Miller yet we just got blown out.

And not to mention others as Martin and Thomas.

Exactly. You can't just keeping swapping players in and out and expect to ever have a team get its act together. I could see some changes in the off-season, but you just can't keep making major changes every other month and expect that will work either.

C'mon ...they have Kobe, we don't. As much as I hate him, its amzing they are in the 8th spot and its all due to Kobe. But they aren't going very far in the playoffs (if they get there) unless they get better, too.

Come on I think you are getting on Ron's back too much. Tell me a player that prevents Kobe from having his way against him? Yes Ron was over matched by Kobe but all players this year have. Kobe is just on another level. The only one that can really stop Kobe is Kobe.

Especially this year...I guess Kobe was HELD to 36 tonight, even though he was out for a while with foul trouble in the 3rd. I'm not too concerned with Kobe being Kobe...he's one of the top 3 players in the WORLD, what do you expect. I just REALLY have NEVER liked him as a person, he lies, cheats, has the biggest God complex, and the world revolves around him in his mind. Cant stand that, pisses me off...but nothing I or anyone can do about that. Bottom line: I was hoping for a hard effort on the defensive end against the Kobe's. Which we obviously didnt get. March 14th will hopefully be a different story.

Gotta agree with ya there -- it has occurred to me that Kobe might not even acknowledge MY divinity. And that, as you might guess, is completely unacceptable. :p

Reminds me of an old joke:

Q: What's the difference between God and a Lawyer?

A: God never wakes up thinking he has court that day.
;)

Come on Brick if you had Kobe's skill and talent on the basketball court you would be Kobe version 2.0 but with tashtalking.

You know it ,I know it we all known it.
;) :p

The Lakers played a great game tonight, which is something they haven't been able to do as of late. As an aside, it seemed as if every time the Lakers scored a bucket, Ronny Turiaf was hopping around like a bigger and more annoying version of Mateen Cleaves and it really ticked me off. They guy was on the court a handful of times during play.

Saw that, but willing got cut the guy some slack. Figure he's probably just pretty damn happy to be there.
