Good Move or Bad Move?

I'm going to LMAO when the Kings start the season 14 W - 6 L and in the top 4 (before Keegan comes back) and are on pace to make the playoffs with this squad!
As I told SLAB in some thread or the other, Russ is perfectly capable of doing that lol (and then crashing an burning)

I think it’s been pretty well established at this point that Malik doesn’t really have any trade value at this point thanks to the salary cap apron situation. Sabonis and Deebo for all the consternation about them both appear to like it in Sacramento, hence Perry apparently deciding to give this core another go.
That is legit insane. This is max a 32 win team right now. And I think I am being generous. The meddling of this owner has created one of the worst situations in the league for current rosters. So we will end up 6-8th in the league, like so many many years prior and be stuck with overpaid mediocre players kinda and way past their primes.

Talking to the wrong fella, I don't care one iota about positions.

Or let's put it this way. I'd rather Carter put 1600 minutes on tape of him actually proving he can't be a lead ball-handler rather than just people saying it without any real evidence behind the claim. I know our defense would certainly be better with 1600 Devin Carter minutes.

I also wouldn't have minded if they brought in Schroder as a steady hand if they were trotting out a starting five of:

Schroder
Ellis
Clifford
Murray
Sabonis

with Carter as the first call-up off the bench.

But they brought in Schroder and Westbrook while moving off neither DeRozan nor LaVine. So it's not just one young guy who gets marginalized. It's all of them. That's what's infuriating to me: going all-in for the effing play-in with no commitment whatsoever to the kind of game reps necessary for the development of the only players who actually matter to the future of the roster.

oh good that will just make us more Kangz to be in the bottom 20% of outcomes.

honestly the best thing I see here is if we stink he gives us more salary filler in trade that comes straight off the books.

I want to see the Venn diagram that shows the overlap between people who want the Kings to tank this season and people who are mad that we brought in Westbrook.
Haha. I think of it two ways. Might he help lead the tank? Could it cause Keon to leave and impact his growth. Mostly thinking WTF

Ok so I am not happy about this but I think the wailing, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments is a bit over the top. YES I want to see the young players developed and loading up one more fossil in the rotation is NOT the answer but I am semi-optimistic that Scottie is at least looking for trades to move out our overstock on aged vets and endless 2 gaurds. From my humble perspective, the top need or at least a quick fix is a big shot blocker defender to play at the 4, moving Keegan to the 3 and freeing up the offense for the four scorers on offense.

So Scott Perry is looking for trades to move out our overstock on aged vets and endless 2 guards, and in the meantime he decides it's prudent to add another aged combo guard to the glut? Granted, Westbrook should be here for no more than a year, but it's such a waste of 20-25 mpg when there's no upside or long-term growth potential in the move, and when it represents a legitimate barrier for development of the team's relevant talent. It's such a worst of all worlds kind of move... which I guess makes it perfect for the Sacramento Kings.
