OK, OK....
We wanted a point guard from Spain, and we got one.

A hearty welcome to the kid known as 'Spanish Chocolate'!
I just watched Sergio highlight videos from the national team and DAMN it is just as impressive as any Rubio film i saw. thing is Sergios is a single game highlight vs. Rubio season highlights.

I am not going to post all of them just check one of these out and you will see what I am saying.
Guy 1: So, did our Kings draft Rubio like I've been hoping for?
Guy 2: Well, I don't want to spoil it for you...but Rubio miraculously fell to us at 4! Now we finally have a point guard from Spain!......although he is known as a very good passer, he really needs to work on his shooting...
Guy 1: Wow, so we got Rubio after all!
Guy 2: No.

But the offensive game is what really kept him pined to the bench even for Portland (even when they needed a PG)--his scoring rate is pretty poor, and while he doesn't abuse the three pt shot as much as J-Will did he also has huge problems scoring efficiently--he's only an average finisher and he's highly unreliable on basically any jumper he attempts. While the jumper is the easiest thing to improve, and he's still only 23, the combination of his offensive passivity and little improvement doesn't bode terribly well for him. I think there's some potential, but there's just too many variables to consider--suffice to say I think he's worse than J-Will offensively. To his credit, even when defenders lay off him he's still an excellent passer, so he does make himself useful offensively. Defensively he just looks for the steal, gets himself out of position often and lacks the sort of strength, habits and effort to get things done--another reason Portland glued him to the bench.
So this could be a good move for Sergio, and if so, a good move for the Kings.
This dude will get JT the ball.
I really want Beno the F outta here. So many times JT would be calling for it on the block with good position for a dunk, and Beno would ignore him, dribble for 5-8 seconds, and launch a 3 (which would raddle off the rim).
That mix tape was nice too. I expect lots of flashy passes and TOs from Sergio this season haha.
But whats worse? A TO resulting from a risky pass (Sergio), Or a TO where he (Beno) dribbles it off of his foot and then yells at the closest Kings player? At least a risky pass can turn into an easy bucket if it's pulled off.

I really thought by getting Sergio, that Geoff was planning on adding Rubio. That way Ricky would be a little more comfortable here. Man, I was wrong.
I really hope he still has that flash in his game cause we need that badly. This team/fans needs to have fun again.
It would have been a fun pairing to say the least, and I was thinking maybe the same thing.
