Welcome Omri Casspi

His problem in defence is, that he is still having trouble spreading out his fouls.
Too often he'll accumilate 3 fouls in 5 minutes.

I hope the KINGS coaching staff catch on to this problem and address it accordingly.
In the NBA the fouls u get are for way more physical things than in europe... in europe everything is way less physical...

If thats true, (i'm not really sure) then it's great news for Casspi - it means that he'll get away with more, and foul out less.

The games are far more physical -- much bigger bodies, much more physical style of play. Now the referees' calls...well that is annually a matter of much debate. You get the wrong crew of refs they will call you for breathing on somebody.

I do wonder how fouls translate. Seems like our bigs always get in foul trouble in the Olympics. Hmmm, where's John Hollinger when you need him.

in the euroleague u can get a foul for breathing on your guard...

tip for the rookies... dont breathe kobe and lebrons air :D and youll not get a foul

i think casspi will have his share of rookie fouls...

i wonder what a garcia casspi tandem would look like.. both will be our energy guys

best way for them to learn is to throw them at the best of the league...

i cant wait to see what paul westphal does with this team..

you guys HAVE to follow casspi while the eurobusket 2009... his gonna play against the strongest defenders on the planet :P (greece)

Greece - now here is a physical team - games with greece rarely end with scores higher than 65 points.

im just going to miss him playing on this shirt -

Welcome, Omri!

First of all, I want all of you Kings fans to know that yesterday your fan-base grew by a couple of millions, at least :)

Second, you really got a big talent picking Omri. He's got all the qualities to be a killer SF, once he works a bit on his upper-body strength (but I suppose the Kings' fitness trainers will take care of that ;) ).

One question though --
I read somewhere that since the Kings weren't so successful the past season (to say the least) your team only had one game broadcast nationally. Do you have some kind of KingsTV or satellite channel or something like that?

Because as I know Israeli sports media, there WILL be buyers for the broadcasting rights for your games. Many Israelis wouldn't mind getting up at 4:00am to watch your games.

Those of us in the general Sacramento area (roughly within a circle of about 70 miles diameter) have access to Comcast Sports Network, which broadcasts all the Kings games. It's available on satellite and cable. For people outside the area allotted to the Kings by the NBA, League Pass is available for purchase. I honestly don't know about what plans the NBA may have for extending League Pass out to Europe but I'd suspect they're working on it since it's pretty clear they're becoming more global every year.

Welcome to Kingsfans.com, BTW. We're very glad to have all of you new fans here to join in the excitement of the coming season.

Totally understandable considering the number of new posts we've had around here lately. :)

By the way to those who know Omri alot, what player resemble's his game? i've heard about nocioni but with this guys length is he more of a 1. Nocioni 2. Kirilenko 3. Prince type of a player?

It's actually pretty hard to say...
I'd say with his style of play he is some combination of Kirilenko, Ginobili and Nocioni.

He really has his very own unique style of play, so it's a bit hard to find one player he resembles. I'll try to think about it more and maybe give you a better answer...

OK....it's like this,
1. His aggression reminds me of Shawn Kemp.
2. His competitiveness reminds me of the great MJ. (No other comparrison)
3. His heart & Passion remind me of Charles Oakley.
4. His rebound reminds me of a mini Charles Barkley.
5. His defence reminds me of Scotty Pippen.
6. His shot reminds me of errrr........Joe Dumars.

I may have exaggerated. (a little :))

He really is an good solid overall player with his own unique style of play,
of course, he is young and needs to improve his physical build, his shot, his speed in releasing his shot and at some point in the future i assume, as a SF, he'll need to learn to deal with double teams on the offence and back doors on the defence.
Other than that...1, 2 & 3 are absoloutly true - i **** u not.
