webb to detroit

Happy for Webb...:) I miss him. :( Truthfully, tho, I think Detroit is a better fit for Webb, than Sac would be. He doesn't have to carry that team, even if he does in stretches. And he has a real chance for a ring there. Probably why, after the Kings are out (either before or not long after the end of the season), I'll root for the Pistons to go all the way. Just for Chris.

WORD!! I hope he gets a ring and then comes and visits Sacramento just to show it off. :p

I agree 100%!! I love watching Webb play on Detroit & will enjoy routing for them. I would love to see him get a ring!

Webber has been playing inspired ball for Detroit... I tell you what, aside from Yo Griffith in '05, I don't know if there's anybody I've ever cheered harder for to get the ring (I feel) they deserve.

Slim, I am with you there on both counts....100%

Webber was the best player on the floor tonight. 24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals on 10-13 shooting.

Wow. Just wow... That just about brings tears to my eyes, Kstat.
Did you ever check the tribute videos we have posted in our Art Studio?

anyone else watch Detroit/Seattle tonight? Man, I finally paid the cheapo rate for League pass & I am so happy I did. Watching Webb tonight was inspriring!! 10/13, 24 points , 8 rebounds, 6 assists... it was just fun to watch!!! Seattle was doubleteaming him towards the end of the 4th.

I agree with Slim & 6th, Webb deserves a ring. I am really going to enjoy watching Detroit make a run for it

No, but I'm pretty sure Webber has every highlight of his entire career at his personal website. Like 2 straight hours of footage.

I'll take a look, though. I admit I didn't know about it.

The mass assortment of bank shots Webber threw up gave me Tim Duncan flashbacks. I think he was 4-4 or 5-5 taking shots off the glass.

A little postgame interview for C-Webb...he looks genuinely happy to be winning out there.

A little known thing is his relationship with Rasheed Wallace going back to their days in Washington. Webber made a comment that Sheed protects him on the defensive end, and Webber sets Sheed up on offense.

That call by Kevin Collabro (Sonics announcer) on the jump hook down the stretch is my favorite call of the night, of the four games I've watched (live and in memorex):

Collabro: "Webber again, high on the left... ball hung on his side, five to shoot... inside pivot... faces... the hook..."

:: shot clock goes off ::

:: ball goes in ::

Collabro: "Awww... That's great footwork by the thirteen-year pro out of Michigan!"

What I'm talking about is a tribute video made a couple of days after Webber was traded to Philadelphia. It was one of the most moving fan tributes I've ever seen...

After all this time, I still cannot watch them without tearing up. You have no idea how much Webber meant to some of us here. It did nearly literally break our hearts the day he was traded...

Chris Webber was the missing link for Detroit.

Last 4 game averages:

20.8pts, 62.2FG%, 4 assists, 9.8 rebounds, and he's really enjoying himself.

Talk about HOF form :D

is it just me or does Damien Wilkins look happy being on a poster?

It's sure a shame Webb can't jump or dunk any more...

I have to stop at this point or face having the difficult task of issuing myself an infraction.

I love to see Webber playing well, I mean I really LOVE to see
him on a team like Detroit. But at the same time it's a bit hard because I'm thinking about what might have been had we kept him and stuff.

Be careful. That road leads to nothing but heartache and tears. Just be thankful for what we DID have... it's easier on the emotions. And be happy for Webber. He's playing the game he loves in the city he has always called home. It's good for Webb and it's certainly looking good for the Detroit Pistons.

:)

Trust me, you're not the only one that feels that way. :(

But, at this point all we can do is cheer our hearts out, and be happy that Webb didn't end his career sitting on the bench in Philly. I am thrilled that he is getting the chance to show what a great player he still is.

After the hook shot from Webb, he ran down the court, with his finger to his mouth saying "shhhhhhh" to the crowd. Awesome to see. And that glorious behind the back to Rip for the score. Love it!!!
