webb to detroit

Like I said before, I am Kings fan first. But, my husband being born and raised in Michigan is a huge Pistons fan and watching them play the last 4-5 years has given me a great concept of team ball and great play and I love The Pistons as well. My fantasy is a Pistons/Kings final. But since that is not going to happen this year, my passion goes to the Pistons and of course C-Webb.

I was just thinking about a title series for Detroit (talk about getting ahead of myself) and I was wondering who the best match up would be for Detroit. I honestly couldn't tell you, because I've only been watching Detroit for the last few games. For our resident Detroit fans, which team in the west do you think Detroit would have the best chance against in the finals?

IMO Dallas is the best match up. I might be stupid here, but I am kind of worried whether Detroit can stay with Phoenix considering the tempo the Suns play at. The Spurs aren't great anymore though so I could see the Pistons beating them.

Coming off of a 13 game win streak that is a bold statement.

Underestimating teams happens. They have the largest point differential and are flying under the radar. Watch out for the Spurs.
Against Detroit the Spurs scare me. It's about experience as well, and the Spurs have it. They know how to win when it counts.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Spurs take the Western Conference in an upset against Dallas.

Still, if I had my druthers, we would be a Piston/Suns Title.

What happened with Webber tonight? He had like 3pts in 21 minutes. Is he healthy? Well, as healthy as he's going to be? I have him on a fantasy team, ya see. lol

A big feature on Pistons trainer Arnie Kander, and a little insight on Webber's recent increase in mobility. He's doing a lot of the same stuff for Webber that he did for McDyess 3 years ago to get him healthy again:

A big reason Joe Dumars is willing to take risks on injury prone guys time and time again is because he has Arnie Kander, and he's simply amazing with what he can do for even the most beaten up player.

Earlier this season, when Chris Webber was asked about the sudden rediscovery of his explosiveness, he said of Kander: "He's the best. He's the best. He's the best."
When Webber came to Detroit, Kander watched 100 game tapes, from high school to the NBA, covering his various stages of growth, development and injury. He saw something he thought he might fix his ongoing problems.

When the two finally met, Kander first asked Webber for his take. Then, slowly, he told him what he wanted to try. Webber listened, asked questions and kept an open mind.

Then they got to work. And the result was a near-immediate reversal of the foot problems that had dogged the player in Philadelphia.

Webber's had the flu for over 10 days now and probably won't play tonight in Chicago. He's seeing medical specialists because he's not sure its the flu anymore.

EDIT: He's so sick he didn't even make the trip. Definitely won't play.

That's too bad. I hope it's minor and that he gets healthy soon. :( Just when things were going well for him....

Chris Webber, who has been sick since the Pistons were in Phoenix two weeks ago, made the flight Wednesday but was sent back home Thursday morning.
"Chris was feeling a little better (Wednesday), and he came to the flight," Kander said. "But after flying he started to feel nauseated again. We didn't want him to get right back on the plane, so he spent the night (in Chicago) and then headed back early (Thursday) morning.
Webber, who already has spent one night in an emergency room last Sunday, was to meet with the Pistons doctors Thursday to determine the exact nature of the ailment.
Kander said he will meet with Hamilton and Webber this morning, but he was hopeful they could play against the Nets.

Just FYI, Webber was on an Patrick today, and he said he can't see himself as anything other than a Piston next year, if he doesn't retire.

Makes sense to me. Things seem to be going so well for him there, and he's happy, they seem to be happy, why mess with a good thing? I can't really imagine him retiring yet.
