We have to draft ADAM MORRISON !!!

It's December 2005. We are, most likely, looking at a team in transition. How you can possibly be thinking of whom to draft in June 2006 boggles the mind...

;)

Hope springs eternal... and with a team as inconsistent and mostly down, as we have now, people will look to the future for any possibility of hope. Including speculation on picks.

I vote for a mending of this team in the next 60 days, with a view toward salvaging a respectable season - whatever that takes!!!

I'd be fine with getting Morrison, but we really need a big man, and would prefer that. As that is the area we don't have any youth other than Jamal Sampson, and who knows what he'll become of with us. Someone like Shelden Williams/Aldridge/Taj Gray/Horford/Josh Boone, some others.

If we did draft Morrison, I guess Garcia would become the back-up SF or one of Martin/Garcia starts at SG if Bonzi's gone, and Morrison would start at SF, since Peja could well be gone. While having SAR at PF and who knows what backing up the bigs.

Ultimately I expect us to draft a PF or C or combo big man, regardless of our draft position/record.

We're about a third through the season, sitting in the 13th spot out of 15 teams, 3 of the 5 starters are nursing injuries, the guy due back earliest is also the guy who's been the biggest disappointment. Even if we were to make a trade and get some talent back, a best case scenario would be 7th, 8th place and a first round exit.

We suck right now, and we're playing just to be mediocre, how can anyone not be interested in the draft?

Because there's no way of knowing what this team will actually look like come Feb. 24, 2006, let alone late June, 2006?

That's why I'm not interested in actually trying to figure out who the Kings need right now, because who they need right now could be the furthest thing from who they need when it actually gets close to draft time.

You're right; we could be a different team come June. And I'm not foolish enough to think that the players we talk about now will be the players we want then, but I think it's a good time to look at players who'll be available.

The way we're playing, we're definitely in position to grab a top pick.

To each his own...I don't follow college basketball until...let's see...March. And because of that, I could care less about the draft at this point.
