[WBB] Comments that don't warrant their own thread 2022-??

Not me being reminded in real time that Russell Westbrook takes his fashion side-hustle seriously, as he's revealed to be the stylist for draft invitee Georgia Amoore (Kentucky).

I’m hoping Iowa gets a WNBA team someday. This state has a long history of supporting women’s basketball. Iowa, Iowa State, Drake and to a lesser extent Northern Iowa have great fan bases at the college level. No chance we ever get a NBA, MLB, NFL or NHL franchise given our close approximation to many pro teams in other surrounding states. Then again, I’ve adopted the Fever so at least I have a team to root for already.

Caitlin Clark triple double in opener against Angel Reese. Fever made some good moves adding defensive pieces to go around Clark. Refs gave Clark a lame flagrant on Reese when she wrapped up Reese to keep her from getting the And 1. Reese took offense. Fun to watch

Small sample size but, through the first three games of the season, Napheesa Collier is on pace to break the single-season scoring record.

If my recollection is correct, wouldn't that make it the 3rd consecutive season in which the scoring record has been broken (if she does indeed go on to break it this season)???

It would only be the second straight season. Jewell Loyd's 2023 scoring average is currently the third-highest on record, but it did not surpass Diana Taurasi's 2006 season.

Not the biggest fan of the name (OG or not, I guess it's something I associate with Chicago) but the logo is pretty cool and at least sticks to the Rose City motif.

I am indifferent to this, because the Fire were not a team that ever relocated; their franchise history began and ended and will begin again in Portland.

I am more annoyed by the fact that the WNBA plans to have 18 teams by 2030, and none of them will be in Sacramento or Houston, two teams that account for just under 20 percent of all the championships that have ever been won in the WNBA.

Portland might be the hottest women's sports market on the planet over the last 10 years but it chaps my hide too @Mr. S£im Citrus

That Valkyries killed off any chance of seeing the Monarchs again soon and yet having that kind of regional rivalry would be great for the game outside of the TV marketing. We'll see how the Storm/Fire go and maybe they'll decide to get in on that with NorCal.
