I’m hoping Iowa gets a WNBA team someday. This state has a long history of supporting women’s basketball. Iowa, Iowa State, Drake and to a lesser extent Northern Iowa have great fan bases at the college level. No chance we ever get a NBA, MLB, NFL or NHL franchise given our close approximation to many pro teams in other surrounding states. Then again, I’ve adopted the Fever so at least I have a team to root for already.

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Small sample size but, through the first three games of the season, Napheesa Collier is on pace to break the single-season scoring record.

If my recollection is correct, wouldn't that make it the 3rd consecutive season in which the scoring record has been broken (if she does indeed go on to break it this season)???
It would only be the second straight season. Jewell Loyd's 2023 scoring average is currently the third-highest on record, but it did not surpass Diana Taurasi's 2006 season.
