[Game] [VSL Game 4] Kings vs. Cavaliers. 7/16/2025 12:30 Pacific, 3:30 Eastern (ESPN 2)

I personally don’t think it’s a separation issue. He has blown past his man time and time again but then he doesn’t know what to do when he gets to the second line of defense. I don’t think he has attempted one floater in Summer league. He either needs to go hard at the basket and try to draw contact or perfect a floater. Maybe analytics consider that a bad shot now?

It may be all of the above. I agree about the floater. If you're a point guard in the NBA it's an absolute must to have a floater.

I think with what Clifford has shown he gets minutes at the point and some 3 small ball minutes.

This is fantasy man.. how’s he getting point minutes over monk then Carter if we trade monk we’re most likely signing Westbrook. SF yes but he’ll see like what 10 minutes Lavine will have to play some small ball SF to make room for Ellis if we want him to get anywhere near 20mpg

If the Kings think this is a Carter problem, or a youth problem then the problem is STILL the Kings. You don't trade a young rookie controlled contract so a player like Monk can get time or ease rotation crunches. The Kings are going with the vets to start the year most likely, but who knows what the deadline looks like. If it's rebuild then trading a 2nd year lottery pick so Monk can get time or so the crunch looks better on paper means this franchise is likely still doomed and stupidity reigns. Carter has years left on his deal so there is no rush. Perry said he's looking at this as a building over time? Well, prove it bud.

We haven’t signed ellis yet and made journeyman Schroeder a priority we’re still the kings

Big difference between picking a small guard in the lottery and picking one late in R1.
Except Nique isn’t a small guard. He is a small wing with done versatility to play 1-3. So there is huge difference in taking Davion/Carter in the lottery vs taking someone like Nique at 24.

Perry talked repeatedly on the summer league interviews about Clifford playing some point.

Yes though Clifford is listed as a PG/SG and I think Perry sees him as such
