I think this is a good comparison.....K Love is a good passer but has a better feel for rebounding than Divac did. do you agree?

I am not comparing vlades game to his height or position or how many camels he smoked pre/post game!
His passing if you watch ucla is pretty damn good for a big fella. and he is a pretty good rebounder. not that he is tall.

So because Love can pass he's like Vlade? Vlade Divac was a LOT more than just a good passer.

Last year espn compared Hawes to vlade......which I dont see.
K Love if you watch ucla games has alot of simalarites.
if we pick late in the draft I dont mind picking him.

Hawes has a much better opportunity to become a Vlade type of playuer than Love. The reason you don't see it yet is that for some reason, we don't get the ball to Hawes in the post. I would love to see that happen a couple of times a game.
this is like saying a new born has ample chance to become like vlade just because you cannot predict the future. after all, the baby might become 7feet tall with great basketball instinct.
now, i believe those who compare vlade to hawes or what not actually have vlade of his latter years in mind. vlade was very athletic for a white guy of his size when he was young. he always knew how to play the game. as he got older, he had to rely on his cunning skills more than anything. vlade was probably the second best center ever out of the usa (the best being sabonis); players of his caliber do not pop up like that, not that frequently.

The other thing that I'm not fond of but I do the same thing like many others is say a guy is going to be a Vlade-type, or a Dirk-type, or it used to be he's got Magic-type qualities....you know the 6'9" guy who had some dribbling abilities and could pass a little, Billy Owens comes to mind. Love has played how many games against college competition? For me, he needs to do it over time. He may be great when he gets to the league but let's see how he handles big games, better competition, etc. One of the differences between a guy Love's size and Vlade's size would be the ability to throw over the top of the defense....Peja cuts to hoop and recieves a drop pass from Vlade. Kind of hard for a shorter guy to do that and Vlade was also long...had length which added to his passing abilities.

er I did respond. All i'm saying is some of your draft ideas and personnel ideas are out there. Kevin Love is nowhere near Vlade, and he's probably more of a Zach Randolph type without the attitude. Either way the Kings wouldn't draft him ever so its not a big deal.

I dont know if a five star recruit is a weird idea....I have a feeling we will be picking around 6-10 this year....which probly would be love, batum, bayless(if he comes out) Dj, maybe jordan, which any of these are good. I still stand by my feeling that Geoff will pick Nichols Batum at number 7.

We are going to have to start losing more often to get 6-10 and with our 3 best players set to come back I wouldn't get my hopes up. More than likely we will pick 13-17

Last year we lost 17 of our last 22 games and still only got the 10th pick. The 17 losses to close out the year was a bulk of our losses and the way this team is getting better under Theus and the starters ready to come back its going to be hard to get in the top 10 come draft day.

Love - Much, much more physical than Vlade at the same age; it's like comparing a steel coil to a marshmallow; outside shot is probably better; passing - better; rebounding - better; Vlade had more potential on defense because of his length.
