VERY tough road trip for Kings.

Okay, six game road trip officially over. After all is said and done (TOTAL understatement), Kings take two games and played very well against Dallas in the first game. Hey, without Brad tonight our fate was pretty much sealed, right?

So much has happened in the last 10 days, time to go home for long overdue rest, practice and home games. Only 9 road games left in the season. Home games will be like water in the desert right now.

I would have liked to see .500 on return from this trip, but all in all things could be MUCH worse. Didn't we suck last big road trip too?

we do have a great opportunity to kinda make up for the suckiness of this road trip with our five game homestand

I think we need to be watching out for Lakers and Denver. I think memphis and Houston will pass us and we will be fighting for the eighth seed

Actually the seventh is the most likely destination for us.

Actually if the rest of the season goes the way of the season so far the rankings would be

1. San Antonio (64-18)
2. Phoenix (61-21)
3. Seattle (58-24)
4. Dallas (56-26)
5. Kings (50-32)
6. Houston (47-35)
7. Memphis (46-36)
8. Denver (42-40)

Minnesota (40-42)
Lakers (40-42)

Of course we do have 1/4 of the season left (roughly). But generally speaking the season at this point vs. the final standings are usually pretty close.

Although actually I don't think it matters much where the Kings end up at this point. They almost certainly cannot pick up 8.5 games on Phoenix so they will be #4 at best.

This means road series with BOTH Phoenix and San Antonio are probable.

So I don't see them doing very well this year.

Bad news is Detroit comes in on sunday and barring some kind of never before seen fire being lit under this unpracticed teams collective butt than I think we can tack on another loss to our record.

Damn, the Kings haven't even played yet and your already giving up. Nice!

If the idea is that Kings haven't been able to play up to their level because of the lack of practice time then I don't think its realistic to believe the Kings will be able to beat the hottest team in the league right now without something truly special happening. The Kings will not get any big practice time in before the game on sunday!!! The only thing that makes it different is they'll be at home and may be fired up enough to get the job done, but what I was saying is that they will have to do it with energy and aggression if they hope to have a chance.

To be fair... I dont expct a Kings win either. The first home game after a long road trip is always hard. I saw a stat about that a few years ago that a majority of teams lose that first home game after such a long trip. I dont remember the exact numbers though.

And wasnt our worst road trip ever 0-6 during our record losing streak? If I recall correctly our "new" kings had a 1-5 trip during the 2000 season.

Thats probably whre we will end up. Houston has a lot of road games ahead while he have mostly home games ahead. We should get a few games seperatiop between us and the Rockets. Who knows.. We can still catch Dallas.

to be fair, the Kings HAVE been playing to their level, frankly, since the first of the year. Long ago, I said February was going to be a brutal month and "the trade" only made it worse. Right now, playing as they are, the Kings are barely a 500 team. Practice might help, but we'll never know since there simply isn't time for any. No we get a red hot Detroit team tomorrow. Don't look for much. I hate to be sucha a pessismist - but this season is all but over folks.

We CAN'T lose that game...I'm about the only Kings fan in the northern Detroit area and I DON'T want to hear it from my youth group...:)

Hottest team in the league who has now lost 2 in row??? Granted it's Seattle and Phoenix but they are in the same boat we were in. This game is the end of a 6 game road trip and they will have been on the road for the past 11 days. We have TV to thank for the 12:30 start but I think you will see a pretty sloppy game. Hopefully Brad will be back to provide some much needed energy.

About Houston, I don't know if anyone has looked at their schedule but it is brutal coming up. They play at home against Dallas tomorrow and then go on the road at Seattle, Phoenix and Us next week. I'm not too worried about Houston and I think we will stay in the 5th spot and no worse than 6th.

If the Kings were in 6th place, I would think that is the best position for them. Seattle isn't that hard. We have just missed players when we played them. Like in the last game vs seattle we were missing Webb and Peja.
