This has been the slowest summer in the NBA in a long time. Not many teams doing big deals like they use to and nobody seems to be pulling off any trades yet. I know it is early but it just seems to be very slow

you know, just today i was thinking the same thing. But you know, it has been one week exactly since free agents have been able to sign new contracts. I think a lot of deals hinge on what happens w/ Bonzi and Al Harrington. After those situations clear up, I think there will be more movement. Or at least more free agent signings.

Well, it's only July 19th.... still 2 plus months left.

Here is basically everything that's happened this off-season:

When you put it that way, I guess there has been a lot of action. Maybe it's the stalemate situation with Bonzi that makes me feel like its slow?

Slow if you're a Kings fan, but for Hornets/Bulls it's been pretty active.

I'd say so. But, really, even with us... Petrie doesn't get going until the latter part of July (aka quite soon) and on.

Here's his GM history:
http://www.hoopshype.com/general_managers/geoff_petrie.htm

The signing period and trade effectives has been earlier this year than past year (August 1st or 2nd, previous years). July 12th was for this year.

Wow both Geoff's best and worst trades involved trading for and trading Webber away. Yeah, both those "moveable" pieces have lots of utility.

I thought that we traded Webber straight up for KT, Corliss, and Brian, but we also traded Sacramento kid Matt Barnes and Michael Bradley as well. That really sucks, Matt Barnes being traded as well as Webber. I liked that kid. What guard position does he play?

I noticed on Petries list that two years ago he signed Bluthenthal, Minard and Alexander and none of them made the team. Might not be as much of a ringing endorsement for Admunson as I thought.

Well, they jsut didn't cut it in pre-season obviously. Also, the team had a lot more secured spots then than now. Along with us going a different direction.

GGG, thanks so much for making that distinction and clearing things up for me. I feel so much better now. ;)
