Keep the team playing with foucs and developing Kevins leadership skillsWhy are they giving all the minutes to K-Mart and Artest?
Those minutes should go to the guys who need time to try to get a spot on the team...So what if the Kings win a summer league game...
Amundson is a white Kenny Thomas without a jumpshot. where is Yemi??????
yeah thats great but he is 6"8 same size as kenny but he is a pf as well. It would be nice if he could handle the 2 or 3 for some depth but another 6'8 PF????? no thanks.
I am sure they already know that J-Williams (same goes for Yemi) is going to get an invite to the Kings this fall to try out, but Amundson might be getting all these minutes so the Kings can get a better look.
I actually hope we invite all three, but who knows.
Totally disagree....its because Amundson IS BETTER than those two. Williams is very intriguing, but I've watched him extensively the past few years and he is sometimes just a liability on the court with his decision making and offense. His defense is superb though...enough to make the NBA.
That said, Louis isn't doing this for this reason or that reason, he's doing it because he outplayed both those guys in Portsmouth and Orlando. He held Justin to 6 pts 4 boards in the regular season last year when UNLV played Wyoming, while Lou had 20 pts 8 boards.
Lou is also the only player in MWC history to have 20 pts and 20 boards in a game....and he did it twice...once against Auburn in his junior season, and then again last year vs. Hawaii.
He shut down Julian Sensley (0 pts), Nick Fazekas, Jason Smith, Justin Williams, and pretty much outplayed every big man he went up against last year.
Also realize that Lou was the tallest player UNLV had last year, he didn't have the luxury of having two or three 7 footers playing next to him like Williams had....that translated to Lou not getting the weakside blocks that he could've gotten. He was also the main focus in the post for UNLV, and UNLV's only frontcourt threat....yet despite double teams, and coaches gameplanning to take him out of his game, Lou still had a great season.
Its getting under my skin that so many make excuses as to why he's outplaying other guys.....he did it in college, in portsmouth, in Orlando, and now he's doing it in Vegas....yet its because they're "seeing what he can do" or "he's got somewhat of a homecourt advantage"....what do you guys have against the kid????

Nothing except he's too small to be a strong interior defender in the NBA, and that is our area of biggest need. I'll take the hustle game any day of the week, but in the end Louis is the same height as many an NBA OG, and gives up 4 inches to many of the PFs and centers around the league. Means he can hustle, he might even be able to help, but he isn't the guy we need to fix what ails us inside.
Of the camp guys Williams is the guy with the best chance to do that. A little taller, longer, and with a natural knack for shotblocking which you just can't teach. Have no probelms with a hustler making our team come fall, but given our serious interior issues, not at the expense of a shotblocker.
Amundson and Williams are essentially the same size. In the draft measurements Amundson measured 6'7.2" without shoes and Williams measured 6'7.25". So, Williams is 0.05 inches taller than Amundson. Williams' wingspan is two inches longer, which, when you're talking wingspans, also isn't much different.

I've never seen either of these guys play, but it would be great to have a hustle guy to push people in practice and bring some energy off the bench. It seems like Williams really has skill as well, hopefully we can bring both to training camp, let them play some preseason games against better competition and let the cream rise to the top.
?? You sure about that? I haveseen pics/videos of Williams and perhaps it's because he is skinny, but he does look the size he is listed (6'10)
