Utah/Sac trade Idea

Sac Trades: SG Kevin Martin, SF Andres Nocioni

Utah Trades: PF Carlos Boozer, SF Matt Harpring, 2010 first round pick

what you guys think? Utah gets much much better with Martin as a legit second scoring option next to D-will and Milsip just starts at the 4. Noc is also a typical Sloan type player and we dump his salary for Harpring's expiring.

I'm kind of leery about trading away Noc because I like the hustle he brings. In reality, we could be giving Martin and Noc away for a 2010 1st and a ton of cap space.

While I supported a Boozer trade last year, I don't think we would garner enough of his interest for him to want to stick around.

Hard to assess fair value for Martin, but I think we should hold out for something better if dealing Martin and Noc. Someone like Amare Stoudemire.

Boozer has zero loyalty and I believe that Jason Thompson will surpass him talent wise in a few years anyways. I think Martin and Nocioni are better for this team at this point. I think holding off on Martin trade ideas until I get to see what this team can do when hes gets back.

So we trade Martin AND Noc for a guy who we won't be able to re-sign, a guy who is 33 going on 34, and a 1st round pick that won't be that high?? Me no likey.

Boozer is better than Jason will probably ever be, but he's also the most greedy disloyal SOB in the league. This would amount to a salary dump unless we agreed to max him out over the summer. And even if we did, his ingrained lack of defense would be a perpetual weight around our ankles.

Sorry, but that is absolutely awful. The only way I would even begin to consider this is if Millsap and maybe even Fesenko were coming back our way instead of Boozer, but then the Jazz probably don't do it.

What your proposing is a pure salary dump for Martin and Noc, with only a mid-late 1st coming back our way. Boozer will never re-sign here, which is great since I wouldn't want him to re-sign here anyway. Dumping Noc and his salary is a plus, but even with the injury history Martin has way too much value to be included in a deal like this. You don't use one of your best assets like that. All that extra cap space would be wasted on this team anyway since we are never going to lure a big name free agent.
