Updated article from Marc Stein about 12 min. ago, doesn't say deal is dead yet...

Could easily be the case, I was just going off the time at the top of the article and the fact that Stein tweeted it out a few min. agoI would assume he wrote the article this morning and it just got published or something? One thing I have noticed is that articles are usually behind tweets but a few hours if not more.
Carmichael Dave just tweeted "Dead is rarely dead"
Only way the Kings draft a player for themselves is if it's Embiid, imo.
Lots of interesting names being tossed out there; Rondo, JSmith, Holiday, Knight, Hensen, Sanders, the German.
One source said that the Kings' focus, for the moment, is Thursday's draft and perhaps swinging a trade involving the No. 8 overall pick. Sources told ESPN.com's Andy Katz on Tuesday that Sacramento has narrowed its potential draft pick trade partners down to Boston, Phoenix and Philadelphia -- three teams that have multiple first-round picks.
Combining that with the rumors from yesterday, it appears we have potential deals on the table with those three teams.
So does that mean trading up or trading down with Philly? One source said that the Kings' focus, for the moment, is Thursday's draft and perhaps swinging a trade involving the No. 8 overall pick. I don't think the Philly deal makes sense....I think with the Embiid injury, Parker and Wiggins are off the board and they may take Exxum, deal MCW to Sac for 8 and take Gordon or Randle, then at 10 take Stauskus or Harris for the SG spot.....just a theoryIt's still so tricky/rare I'm counting out anything with free agents on draft day. So, no Bradley or Bledsoe.
Probably more like 8+salary filler (Terry? Williams)+ Ben? for Rondo.
Or Thompson+8 for Thad Young and 10 (Payton).
Or Thompson+8 for Thad Young and 10 (Payton).
im 100% in on this idea.Or Thompson+8 for Thad Young and 10 (Payton).
Couple points:
1. Not sure 45% is really a high bar for your PF
2. The last couple seasons, he takes over 3 3's a game and shoots in the high 20%
3. He gets to the line about 4 times a game and shoots around 50%
Not saying its a horrible deal but these are big problems when you are paying someone over $13M/year for the next 3 seasons
I'm no Josh Smith expert, but what I'm seeing others say about his game is that one of the problems is that the 3 (where the Pistons played him) really isn't his best position. So if you put him at the 4 instead, wouldn't most of those problems theoretically get better?
