I guess I just don't get when Diogu became the end all be all. He had two good games at the end of the season. If the Kings aren't interested there has to be a reason. A reason that neither I and I might add you aren't privy to. The reason I brought up two years ago was because the comments were almost exactly the same.
If the Kings sign a player, and he doesn't work out, they're criticized. But if they don't sign a player, one that you think they should. Then they get criticized again. Yes, they're in a rebuild and the last thing they need to do is rush to judgement on a player like Diogu. Personally, if they want to sign him to a minimum contract, I'm fine with that. But if they don't, I'm fine with that too. But I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
What if they have a trade in the works to land someone of significance. They just forgot to inform you and I about it. They're bad. What if Diogu wants more than the minumum, and a longer contract than one or two years. And once again they forgot to inform you and I about it. I'm not so contentious as to think I know everything thats going on, and I can then pass judgement. Its an abstract argument. Its creating a scenario that may or may not exist and then criticizing management for not acting on a set of non-existing or imagined facts.
Its also possible the his agent is lying. We all know that agents don't lie. All I'm saying is that we don't have all the facts. When I ran my own business and I had problems with an employee, I had to make sure I had all the facts before I made a decision on said employee. By the same token, I can't be critical of Petrie for something he didn't do when I don't know all the facts involved. To me, thats just common sense. And to do otherwise doesn't make sense to me.
I will admit that I'm a glass half full person. An optimist. Its been proven that if you put one negative person in a room with 20 positive people. The negative person will bring down the positive people and not the other way around. Thats because negativism is a powerful emotion and a defeating one. When I was in a fox hole in Vietnam, the last person I wanted in that hole with me was someone yelling, Were all going to die!
There's plenty of time to be critical and negative later when the season begins. Or when we actually sign or trade for someone. At the moment, other than our draft picks, there's not too much to be critical of. Unless you want to make a big deal out of summer league play. By you, I don't mean you personally.
Robert Swift had torn meniscus in his knee or knee's. Its painful but not career ending. I've had it myself. He averaged almost one blocked shot a game in very limited minutes, and rebounded well for limited minutes. He's a little risky but he's also very young.
The list I gave you is the official NBA list. It was updated yesterday, so unless Joel Anthony was given a qualifying offer under the table after the deadline, he's still a free agent.
Steven Hunter hasn't retired, but as I said, he would be a risky signing whereas his knee injury was very serious.
Unless you have personal knowledge of what Hollins is going to do, then your just guessing. It might be a good guess, but guessing non the less.
There's also Jamaal Magloire. Not my personl choice but he's out there.
Most of these guys wound'nt cost much so thats why I brought them up. Personally I think that if anyone that would make an impact is coming here it will be via trade. Its still very early in the off-season. There's a lot of time to get things done.
