Un-Drafted Free Agents

Dime Dropper

Some interesting guys available. I know some of you wanted us to take Forbes in the second, he's available. Here's a list of some of the more intriguing guys;

Davon Jefferson, Jamont Gordon, Pat Calathes, Gary Forbes, Bryce Taylor, Chris Lofton, Richard Roby.

I'm probably forgetting some guys so feel free to add some.

Hopefully Jefferson gets an invite, he has talent. Also Forbes (why didn't he get drafted?).

Did that Duke PG get drafted? His name escapes me, but I know he was being talked about as a 2nd rounder.

Yeah, I was one of those that wanted Forbes, and I was surprised that he didn't get drafted. I think the Pt guard your refering to is Nelson, and no, he didn't get drafted. Hopefully, we'll invite Forbes to play in our summer league. Jefferson is a very good talent, but he really hurt his chances in the pre-draft camp when he showed up out of shape, and didn't play very well.

I have seen Nelson play a few times in person at sheldon high and a pick up game, he is athletic but not really anything to crazy I imagine he will play overseas and not the nba.

Bo McAleb is another pg that wasn't drafted and he is playing on the Kings summer league team. He's a good defender and athlete but is undersized and more of a scorer than true pg.

Davon Jefferson would most likely be a first round pick in 2009 if he stayed in college another year. That's good value for a minimum contract. We're not going to bring him in though because he's not a Petrie type of player and we have too many SFs right now. Of course next season when Artest leaves for the Lakers or Spurs and we're forced to start Salmons at SF it would have been nice to have Jefferson available to come off the bench, but it'll be too late by then. Same story, different year.

I guess nobody cares at this point, but I searched in the forum about Chris Lofton and I found this thread. Chris Lofton is playing in Estudiantes, the team I support in Spain, since a month ago.

He didn't get drafted in 2007 because he had a testicle cancer wich of course is over at this point. He has made public the story just a few weeks ago.

Is a very interesting article and I think it worth refloating this old thread, besides it's poorly translated. I really love these kind of illness superations stories, they always teach you a few things about attitude and life.
