Several sources confirm that the New Orleans Hornets are shopping Tyson Chandler for cap flexibility and front court depth. I've posted my excitement about acquiring Chandler many times, and now seems like the perfect time for Geoffe to strike a deal and add some more front court talent to this team. He's still only 26, and a mobile, intimidating shot blocker who can run the floor well and rebound. He has some offensive limitations, but adding him to the core of Spencer and Jason going forward would be a huge step forward in the rebuild. What do you think it would take to make Tyson a King? Here's one idea:
Kings Out:
Andres Nocioni
Beno Udrih
Kenny Thomas
Kings In:
Peja Stojakovic
Tyson Chandler
Hornets Out:
Peja Stojakovic
Tyson Chandler

Andres Nocioni
Beno Udrih
Kenny Thomas
Why Sacramento Does This: Several reasons. Ultimately, this gives them a 3 headed monster in the post with Chandler, Hawes, and Thompson which is young and can grow as the team gets more competitive, and fills a need for a tough defensive shot blocker who can get out and run. Secondly, Peja Stojakovic can end his career where it began, with the Sacramento Kings, giving occasional bench scoring for a season before his retirement, and leadership for the other young small forwards on the roster. Third, it moves the cancerous contract of Beno Udrih, who is redundant now that Tyreke Evans is in town.
Why Sacramento Doesn't Do This: Peja's whale of a contract, and Tyson's questionable great toe health. Also, they might have plans for Beno going forward, and better suiters for K9's expiring contract.
Why New Orleans Does This: Luxury tax savings! Plus they get rid of Peja Stojakovic's huge contract. Sure they end up with Beno and Nocioni, but as a fringe playoff team, that actually makes them better, and both players are very sercivable. K9 fills in too, as a back-up PF to West, and injury insurance.
Why New Orleans Doesn't Do This: Nocioni and Beno have multi-year contracts which they would have to commit to. For a franchise struggling financially, they might want to find a better deal elsewhere.
Kings New Line-up
PG Tyreke Evans/Sergio Rodriguez/Bobby Jackson?
SG Kevin Martin/Francisco Garcia/Tyreke Evans
SF Francisco Garcia/Dante Greene/Omri Casspi/Peja Stojakovic (Injury Prone)
PF Jason Thompson/Jon Brockman/Ike Diogu?/Omri and Dante Spot Minutes
C Spencer Hawes/Tyson Chandler
