Tyreke Wants NO?

So going to through this out there for Brick and Rainmaker.

It's been reported that Cuz and Evans aren't peas and carrots. There could be a bigger rift between them than anyone knows. The Kings FO has talked to Cuz. Could it be Cuz's wishes that Evans doesn't return that's driving this? Then if so would you want to resign Evans at all costs if its going to reduce the chances at keeping Cuz?

Just like Shaq and Kobe..minus the talent and success.

By the way, I still don't think it's confirmed that Evans has verbally agreed to New Orleans' offer sheet.

The ESPN article says that sources say it's "an inevitability", but people in Evans' camp have been saying that some of that report is wrong since it came out (see CarmichaelDave's tweets and this tweet retweeted by Evans' brother):

Thought that Tyreke Evans is not interested in staying in Sacramento is coming from somewhere else and not him. Interesting who's placing it

If that's even remotely true, we gotta go with with Cousins. But i follow both of them on Instagram and twitter. They always comment on each other's posts. Maybe personally they like each other but they just don't fit on the court together.

One severely under reported deal in this whole saga? Tyreke and DMC aren't exactly peas and carrots either.

They don't have to be as long as they will play basketball. Why are you trying to throw a monkey wrench into the chatter? I realize you like to be contrary so I guess that's the way it is.

Bring him back and work it out under a new regime, new coach, new system. If it doesn't work out(and other than Napear I haven't heard they have any beef) then see where we are and make a decision. But if this is about Reke being upset with a few of Cuz's emotional outbreaks, as I would assume most of the team was, not a big deal. And on the floor I saw no issues.

Rondo and KG/Allen/Pierce worked out differences. So did Kobe/Shaq. Bottom line is you're not required to like one another and given our market you can't take the risk of losing Reke because they "might" have an issue which I personally haven't seen any evidence of aside from Napear hearsay. If anything, the problems I visibly saw between Cuz and teammates were with he and Brooks, and to a lesser extent he and IT.

And winning fixes a lot of issues, if there are any.

Edit: I wouldn't be at all surprised if Napear's hearsay stemmed from Reke saying something along the lines of, would Cuz grow the F up and stop throwing tantrums. Or I could see Reke actually confronting Cuz about his immaturity, as it was reported he was more vocal last year. But really, most of this probably changes under the new regime and new coach, IF there's any truth to it.

the only person "reporting" that has been Grant Napear on his DMC Hate show

Take it for what it's worth, but I have heard from more than one reliable friend who is in the know, that Reke and Cuz really don't get along at all. They even try to avoid going to the same clubs downtown.

Doesn't surprise me. One is a seemingly quiet introvert while the other is a notorious goofball.

Reke's brother has retweeted numerous tweets saying Reke/Cuz are our foundation and we want them both here for years to come.

But all this probably stems from a toxic culture. I mean, we heard what the film sessions were like. I doubt any King enjoyed their time here the last couple years.

I think they don't get along, but are willing to play together if it means winning. I think they can make it work on the court, but you won't see them hanging out at the BBQ together.....know what I mean?

I can at least see one instance where the Kings might be inclined to make a better offer. We've been told that the Pelicans offer has been structured so as to make it as painful as possible, capwise, for the Kings to match. Let's say the offer is 4/$48M. The Kings might actually find greater value in a 4/$49 deal that the Kings are able to structure so as to make it as friendly as possible to our cap desires, and might prefer such a contract to matching the Pelicans' deal. Maybe.

Now, I don't know if one can give Jones the benefit of the doubt for thinking that through, but at least it's a possibility.

All true! You can front load or back load a contract. In the end, the total money is divided up to come out the same. A front loaded contract is just harder to initially swallow. There is one great unknown in this debate, and thats whether the Kings want Tyreke back? At least at that price. One possibility is that they were locked and loaded for Iguodala. It fell through, and now they're considering plan B, which may include Tyreke, but another player as well. So they could be trying to figure out how to match the offer, and still have enough capspace to make another move.

I believe the amnesty period starts on july 10th and runs for a week. At least thats my memory of it. Or does it vary for different players? Don't remember! Point is, thats another decision they may have to make in a short period of time. Who knows, with the drafting of McLemore, they may not think Tyreke is as high a priority as we do. Broke my damm crystal ball!

I think winning solves almost everything.

You really can't believe anything this time of year.

Even if it's from the same exacty person, like Tyreke's closest brother and confidant, it's likely done to drive up offers.

If he says Tyreke wants to be in Sac for years to come and revitalize the city, the other teams bid high to pry him away.

This strategy especially makes sense in the RFA situation, when all you have to do is get a high contract offer, and if you really would be prefer to stay, then make the home team match it.

Then, same source also says, "Tyreke ready for a change of scenery"... to entice suitors/let them know a bid is worth putting forth.

It's all a dog and pony show until ink hits paper.

All these pictures just proved one thing: We don't need them to be the best of friends, we just need them to compete cohesively and win.

I don't think Reke would see the FO going after Iggy as a slight. If anything that was probably a selling point. "Don't worry, we'll match any offer, but we want to bring Iggy in as well."

For a team that's been in the toilet his whole career, I imagine Reke would be excited adding Iggy to himself, Cousins, and McLemore

The tweets I'm referring to aren't from this period in time. It was during last season.

One other interesting note re: Evans & #SacKings: I'm told Coach Michael Malone wants very much to have Tyreke in Sacramento next season.

That's great, Malone wants Evans and believes he can fit in his system. Now the question is does Evans fit with PDA's and Vivek's vision? I think he does, and Malone's encouragement should only help for the decision to become easier to make, resign him!!!

Tyreke Evans to commit to New Orleans Pelicans if Sacramento Kings don’t make move today http://shar.es/AsKz5 via @sharethis

This doesn't compute. Tyreke can't sign an offer sheet until July 10 at which point the Kings can match the offer sheet within 3 days and he stays in Sacramento whether he wants to be here or not.

IF this were true it would make Reek's agent the WORST negotiator ever. You can't strong arm a guy who has all the cards. NO CAN"T sign an offer for a week and once they do IF PDA want's Reek all we have to do is match it. I am sure J. Ham is full of it.
