I am waiting for Section 101, AriesMar, and swisssh to contribute their thoughts about Evans' game. It will be very interesting to know what their viewpoints are on Evans's game against the Jazz.![]()

Rubio would not have the impact on the game like this kid. On both ends especially on the defensive end.
I was thinking the same... no coincidence.A breakout game? I suppose so, at least in terms of points, but I thought Evans had had a great game against Chris Paul. Maybe he's the kind of ultra-competitive player that he can step it up to another level when playing against the best players. Because Chris and Deron just might be the two best in the league right now (at PG). Coincidence? I think not.
''My confidence is up. When I see guys like D-Will step on the court, I just want to go in there and attack. I want to put the pressure on them and I think I did that tonight,'' Evans said.
OMG he had a good game. And they still almost blew it in the 4th when the one on one and ball movement stopped. That was mostly Evans pounding the ball till the clock was at 5 seconds then chucking something up or shotclock violation. And dont give me this he's a rookie crap. He's been playing how long and had been in that situation many times. The last 2 min strats don't change much.
This was a team that won it on the defensive end. Everyone stepped up. It happens alot when the main guy goes out. The question is how long will it sustain?
I'd like to hope so, but realistically we shouldn't hope for too much on the second game of a back-to-back. Besides, GSW has Mikki Moore. His presence in the paint might actually be a problem for our young team because Mikki can take a charge better than just about anyone else in the league. Darn it.
But, once again, this thread should be about Reke and his performance tonight. He earned it.
I'm wondering about that one myself. Given their version of defense they should have absolutely no hope of stopping him in there, but on the other hand I have gotten the feeling Reke is actually more comfortable in a halfcourt type setting isolating his man, posting him up etc. than in Nelson's drug induced garbage game. Will be interesting. Another big game though would be a real nice wakeup call to the league though.
hmm..he played the 2 today and blows up..he shouldn't be a PG..he's at his best from the 2..
Watching him tonight was like seeing a huge burden off his shoulders.. Was able to play his game which is basically him doing what he needs to do to score like he did in Memphis.. I think it's a good idea to pair him with a PG.. Kind of like Chalmers to Wade and so on... Take the main ball handling duties off his shoulders but still give him control of the ball the majority of the time to do his thing. Luckily if this is the case we don't need a stud PG.
Awesome game by Evans.

Funny how last night when Tyreke was abusing the Jazz at pg, we didn't hear anything from the Tyreke bashers. Well, after watching last nights game, nobody can objectively say Tyreke can't play the point in the nba.I am waiting for Section 101, AriesMar, and swisssh to contribute their thoughts about Evans' game. They may both get 30 pts a piece, because we ALL know there wont be ANY defense being played tonight by either team. Now we get a chance to see the Curry Evans duel tonight
However, he is a rookie. I'm not sure what your implying. He may have had experience in that situation before, but it was in one year of college or in highschool. Your surely not saying that he should know exactly how and what to do in the NBA based on that, are you? Do you apply that standard to every player at every position that comes into the league in their rookie year? I would hope not..
He should know better than to pound the ball for 20 seconds before doing anything. He did it several times in the 4th. Just standing there on the wing. That has nothing to do with knowing the offense. Do something, anything before the clock hits 5 seconds and you just chuck something up or pass off for a violation. And yes, Beno and others did it as well. But since everyone claims Evans is the point, its his job to get the offense running.
