Two Trades

captain bill

All-Star
No. 1: Sac-Toronto

John Salmons for Bargnani and 2009 1st Rounder (top 10 protected)

OR

John Salmons for Anthony Parker and 2009 1st Rounder (protected)

Raps look to win now with Bosh unhappy and the team clearly not good enough to do much this year. Salmons could be a good complementary piece to solidify that team. Sac gets a pick that could end up in the mid-teens. Protection probably necessary to get the deal done.

Parker is an expiring, Bargs has one year left, and we could see what he can do in Sac and let him walk after a full season if need be.

No. 2: Sac-Charlotte-Portland

Kings:

Brad and Beno, for Lafrentz and Felton

Cats:

Felton, Wallace and Morrison/Mohammed for Miller Udrih and Travis Outlaw

Blazers:

Outlaw and Lafrentz for Morrison/Mohammed and Wallace

Portland 2009 #1 pick goes to Sac, who sends a 2009 2nd rounder to Charlotte.

Kings get a big fat expiring in Lafrentz and a good young prospect in Felton.

Cats get their man in Brad. Trading Felton makes Augustin the no 1 PG going forward, and Beno can be his backup for the next couple of seasons at a decent price. Outlaw is a serviceable replacement for Wallace. Cats pick the (ex) Stache or Nazr to make salaries work.

Blazers go over the top with Wallace while not giving up much of anything.

The picks are really negotiable in this deal, I just thought Portland should give up its #1 since that's not going to be a very high pick and they just got a quality player for nothing. I think Sac deserves it since they go 2-for-1 in terms of servicable players while Charlotte gets closer to equal value while still giving up some, hence the Sac 2nd rounder.

Summary: Salmons Brad and Beno for cap space, 2 first round picks and a solid young player plus one more role player.

Kings completely tank, get a top pick in 09 and have 4 (four!) total first round picks in 2009.
