I gotta pick this up now, as I think we may be treading into the territory where it could possibly be picked. Possibly.

Quite a few more of you will have heard this pick than you realize. And when I think of epic songs, I think of this. Popularized by the movie The Matrix this is truly one of the best instrumental electronic songs I've ever heard.

I was looking for my own Huey Lewis song to add and needed another slower song as well. Heard this and loved it when the movie came out.

Gonna go with Huey Lewis and Gwenyth Paltrow - Cruisin' - Duets Soundtrack

Time for that "vulgar" song i was talking about. While the song in general probably isn't vulgar, there's a part in there that is. One of my fave Disturbed songs.

Down With The Sickness - Disturbed - The Sickness

!!!WARNING!!!:
Some language, and it references child abuse from 3:28-4:06

I thought about this pick for a while, and finally decided to go with another personal favorite, that wouldn't have been allowed in the album draft:

You Can't Win - Michael Jackson - The Wiz Soundtrack - 1978

Send Me On My Way - Rusted Root - When I Woke (1994)

I wanted something different for this pick, and this song is certainly that. Totally unique song that could be subtitled "hippies having fun", and a real hoot. My senior year (undergrad) my housemate in the room next door used to absolutely love this song and blasted it at full volume multiple times a day right through the spring semester, while belting out the chorus of course (and no, he didn't know what half the words were any more than anybody else). Should have made me as thoroughly sick of it as were the rest of the guys on the floor, but oddly had the opposite effect and I eventually picked up the album myself.

Hit Me With Your Best Shot - Pat Benatar - Crimes of Passion (1980)

So as a follow up to what may end up as my most unconventional pick, I decided it was about time to head back to my roots and nab maybe my most straight ahead rock pick since Animal I Have Become, and possibly even You Shook Me All Night Long. A song that is 100% hook, sneer, and defiance, and makes no apologies about it. And isn't that kind of the core of rock and roll? Gets me another female singer too, which I have been running short of despite my pretensions of rising about the misogynistic pack.

With my twenty-fifth pick, I select:

[yt=Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood]Z5aMC6d4M0M[/yt]

Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Santa Esmeralda - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - 1977

This song was first recorded in 1964, and later covered by The Animals... I didn't like either of those versions. And I, like many others, first heard this song (or part of it) during the climatic fight scene at the end of Kill Bill Vol. 1. I was totally hooked at that point, and I happen to think that the instrumental portion in the middle is one of the coolest pieces of music I've ever heard.

Good pick. I have some Rage coming up soon, and debated taking this one. I was surprised to see 2 Rage songs go before this one (especially the 2 that went)
I like Killing in the Name, and its definitely the best riff(s) produced in any Rage song, but if we're being super RP here, I probably couldn't stand a whole 70 years on an island listening to those repetitive, annoyingly "RAH RAH FIGHT THE POWER" lyrics.

There will be no "power" to fight on my self-governed island, so a nice funk rock tribute song to people I might otherwise forget about was the way to go for me

Draft Members Please Read This Post.

The draft board is all caught up including links. Thanks to VF for the help. Please pm me if any of your links are off. Also, if you have not added a YouTube imbed or link to each and every pick, please take the time to do so. Thanx.

Yeah I understand. I didn't say I didn't like the songs picked, because I like every Rage song other than Settle For Nothing. I was just surprised because none of those were in the 5 songs I'm considering

It looks like I'm up in this draft too. I never got a PM

Well, I was gonna leave this for a couple rounds more, but I doubt my other picks are going anywhere, so I might as well make my Rage pick. The suspense must be killing everyone

[yt=Wake Up]B1T8xgHdMEM[/yt]

Wake Up - Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine

My favorite song by them perhaps. I'm torn between a couple actually. Anyway, I'll let Wiki do the talking for me.

EDIT: I love the riff that starts at 3:26. One of my faves out of all their songs

You know, I have come to the conlcusion that we have the entire fanbases of Rage and Weezer right here on this board. If they had this much support across the general populace, they would have outsold the Beatles.
