Trade idea solving lots of problems

Entity

Hall of Famer
here we go. Sign and Trade Bonzi Wells and Potapenko to Washington for Etan Thomas and a future 2nd rounder. Accepting Potapenko would be a stipulation in order for Wash to get Bonzi.

Then since Milwalkee has interest in a smaller big man (oxymoron) we could send KT (since they have shown interest in him before) to Mil for Joe Smith. Smith was hurt most of last year and he is another big body they don't need with Bogut and Gadzuric now with villanueva they could use insurance in KT at the PF incase villa don't pan out.

We would be Bringing in close to 11 mil but getting rid of the same amount so we could stay under the lux tax. Make this a 3 way trade and the salaries should match up right with the 2nd round pick for POTapenko

how is this depth chart now 15 man roster

Bibby/Salmons/Hart/Price/Douby
Martin/Salmons/Garcia/Douby
Artest/Garcia/Salmons
Reef/Smith/Thomas/Amundson/Williamson
Miller/Thomas/Williams/Smith

Pot's contract comes off the books at the end of the season, I'm pretty sure he's going to be quite valuable at the trade deadline along with Corliss and Hart who are also on expiring deals. I think we should keep him around unless/until someone actually wants him.

Getting Joe Smith and starting Reef does not help us much at the PF spot if at all. KT/Reef combo imo is better than a Reef/Smith combo.

But I think getting rid of KT would make it worth it.

So how exactly do the salaries of Potapenko and Bonzi Wells equal the 5.9 million Etan Thomas makes?

BTW- Why would Washington want Bonzi? They have a younger better version of him in Caron Butler.

Joe Smith isn't quite what we needed anyways. He's not a defensive presence or a difference maker there. Solid rebounder and hustler? Yup. More shooting? Yeah.
