"Told you, I'm going to Sacramento." -Ty Lawson

Ty Lawson starts.
Collison off the bench.
Dre Miller as 3rd string PG.

That, my friend is a deep rotation. And please don't say, "What about Ray..."

Also, with DC, JT, Casspi, Landry, and (new and improved) BMac/Sauce in the 2nd unit, that gives us a bench worthy of going head to head with the heavy hitters in the west.

How exactly do you assume we would acquire Lawson when we retain everyone

This is a joke right? Stop being laker fans we won't get lawson for a stupid offer like landry/Nik. Collison won't be here if lawson is here

Ty Lawson is just damn scared he'll fully rot in the bench now that Mudiay will grind it out for Malone.

No to Ty Lawson please. That 12M could net us 2 good players that would increase our depth without having to engage in ego-boxing with Cousins.
Yeah your 100% right Lawson is a complete scrub that's going to be a back up to a guy you have never seen play at the NBA level.

LOL! You already got Andre Miller here for your happiness. Stop riding the Denver mascot. I was not saying he is a scrub. He's on his way to turn himself into that scrub with his attitude and season ending injuries. His contract makes any team to rethink any possible discussion with Denver. Otherwise, even without Karl, he could get himself a lot of other suitors if he really is not overpriced.

Would rather sign Cory Joseph than trade for Ty Lawson. I want no part of Lawson. I really hope we make it through the offseason without dealing for him.

I'm not saying you wrong but I think we should keep an open mind, Ty Lawson would not be the first guy I would trade for or sign (that would be Middleton or Wes). Maybe I'm just remembering the Ty from a couple of years ago (and he might never be that again). I still think we need a elite back up PG or a starter, we badly need a guy who breaks down people in the half court and can dish it.

The full video shows him mocking that is what the press would say.

It's more interesting that he says WCS is more of George's type than Cousins.

Not Lawson please. I hope we bring in another plus defender for the PG position. Cole, Schröder, Smart, Beverley...anyone, who takes pride in playing D and will pressure his opponent all game long.

Not a huge fan of him but honestly after all this drama I'm not gonna turn my nose up at players who have produced in the past.

He's probably right.

What I said at the time of the hire: George has NEVER coached a center like Cousins. I'm not convinced he has any real feel for what to do with him at all, and after 30 years may be far too set in his ways to even want to. The only comparison he could offer up was Kemp, a PF, and one completely different than (and vastly inferior to) Cousins. So George's big idea was let's turn the most dominant offensive center in the game into "a rim runner". Brilliant.

George's bigs, and the ones Lawson would have had personal experience with especially, have been defensive roleplayers, some decent, some not so much. you could probably take that all the way back to the days of Perkins and McIllvane and Brickowski, Tyrone Hill, Ervin Johnson, Marcus Camby, Mozgov, Koufos etc. Just muck around and stay out of the way, try to keep the opposing bigs from going off on us too badly. We'll win the game with our little guys. I like little guys. A big guy calling for the ball is almost an instant "chemistry" issue for George. That's not staying in your lane.

A guy like Cousins turns George's entire normal team structure/basketball player power structure on its head. He's practically anathema, and while I initially had some hope Karl was an old and experienced enough coach to figure it out, increasingly I'm not sure he has any more idea, or desire, to figure it out than a Keith Smart did. An old ideologue set in his ways.

Everything we saw last season under Karl speaks against this thesis. Cousins was handling the ball a lot, was supposed to be a playmaker, while being allowed to score in multiple ways. Karl was praising Cousins abilities, saying he has never seen a big man like this. While defense was a concern and we didn't manage to win more than 11 games, I think it's a little bit farfetched to say, that Karl is just an old stubborn dude, that doesn't want to change.

Vlade was asked about Lawson today on the CD show (about the hookah). He said something like "we all do dumb stuff, but we don't all put it on TV" (that is a liberal paraphrase - it was about an hour ago). It could be that we pass on the goofball.

I second the motion.

Not Lawson please.

If choosing between two evils (Lawson and Rondo), I'll go for Rondo even for just a one year deal.

I'll pass on both. I will take Lou Williams over either of those guys any day of the week. Let Darren play the low usage defensive guy with the starting five and Lou as the scoring spark and floor leader for the bench.

What is the problem with giving Rondo a one-year deal.

He flopped in Dallas but only because he was put in a position to fail. In the same season at Boston he performed much better. Why not give it a try?

I'm not sure he was put in a position to fail. He decided not to succeed. Those are two different things.

Yeah, partly becaused it seemed he lacked any motivation. He'll be MUCH more motivated wherever he plays this season, needs to re-build his rep before the cap increase. :D

He sucked in Boston too last season and before the trade. Mavs have all that spacing/shooting we have 0. Teams pgs will double and pack the paint with being punished for it.

Rondo has never successfully played with guys this ball-dominant, and right now is not the time for experiments. Wants to come over for vet min to prove himself and win starting spot? He's welcome. Burning most of cap space on a guy with serious fit and personality concerns? Not a good idea.

No thanks to Rondo. We don't need a PG that can't even shoot a free throw. Last year in Dallas is basically what we would get if we try to pick him up.

Lawson would be 10x better fit than Rondo. I would take Lawson 100 times before I would even consider Rondo.

I think if Lawson is traded, it will be fairly soon, before July 1st start of Free Agency.

His trade value will sink even more once Free Agency starts and teams start to sign players. If Denver wants to get something in return for Lawson, they better make a trade ASAP
