Today's press conference?

Uncle Buck, we would welcome you as a converted Kings fan. You could be like me. Keep the Pacers as your #1 team in the East. :)

Okay, when RA was let go, I had two choices for our new coach. I wanted Stan Van Gundy or Eric Mussleman. Needless to say, I am delighted with the Maloofs choice. Now, the more I hear, the more sure I am that my choice was a good one.

Thanks for the info from the news conference, VF!

Well I can't just change who I'm a fan of. I'll be a Pacers fan until I die. But I've always been a little bit of a Kings fan. Always wanted the Kings to beat the Lakers and the Mavs a few years back. But I started to really dislike the Kings a year ago or two and then this season until you got Ronnie, the Kings were unwatchable. But the Kings are my second favorite team as of now, that is the best I can do.

Having said that, the Kings need some interior defense, the new coaching staff will help but if Brad and Kenny are the two inside defenders, it won't be much better. I don't care how good Bonzi and Artest are, you need some interior defense.

One poor defender in the starting lineup is enough, so you need to decide who you want to keep . Either Bibby or Brad Miller, but not both.

Thanks for the link! Loved the interview. Coach has an infectious smile and looks a bit like my bro. I love his enthusiasm. Looking forward to the ride.

Exactly, Buck (about interior guys). 1-2 additions and subtractions to the frontcourt must be made.

KT/Brad/SAR/Potapenko - Doubt that's our 4 FC guys by September. Need some defense and athleticism in there.

Okay, just a reminder... we have a whole forum just for trade talk, etc.

;)

Did anyone go to the Arden Mall to see them? Curoius of what happened......

My girlfriend and I went. Slamson did a routine then the dance team came out and danced. The Maloofs were introduced along with Petrie and Muss. The Maloofs were all smiles. They came out and talked about why they decided on Muss and the let him talk to the fans. He said that as an opponent coming into Sac they knew it was always going to be a tough game because of us fans. He said that he was always in awe of how much the fans supported their team. He also said that he's glad he's part of our family now.

Coach Muss was very impressive and there definetly was a very notcable chemistry between 4 of them. I certain Petrie likes this move and so do the Maloofs.

Hopefully coach Muss is the one that leads us all the way :)

I was at the Kings event on Saturday also. It was cool meeting Geoff Petrie, Joe and Gavin Maloof. Unfortunately, I couldn't catch up with Eric Musselman because my "photographer" needed three takes to get a picture of Petrie and myself. Luckily for me Petrie was either in a really good mood or he's just that cool to allow me to take three pictures with him just so I could get it right.

I also spoke with both Joe and Gavin (at different times) about their thoughts on bringing back the old black road jerseys. They both told me they would love to but the NBA won't allow them to. I didn't get a response as to why. I found it strange that the NBA won't allow them to bring back those jerseys.

What are your thoughts on this? Anyone ever heard of anything like that? I can't imagine the NBA giving the Kings the okay to produce those ugly gold standard jerseys and not allow them to have the black ones back. Just doesn't make sense.

Agreed. I'm actually enjoying TDOS!

Ok let's not go overboard here.;)

I'm very excited about this hiring. As much as I love and respect Adelman, when Musselman was the head coach in GS, I always had a soft spot for him and thought he would be an excellent replacement for Rick if the situtation called for it. I'm glad the Maloofs have made this choice and next season will be a breath of fresh air and very, very interesting to say the least. Dammnit, 4 months to go.

Oh yeah and I'm all for the Black jerseys, it's strange that the league will not allow it.

I enjoyed it, I'm getting really excited about next season. Muss could be just what we need to get over the hump.
Interesting about the jerseys, I wonder what reason they have for that.
Did they say anything about burning the gold ones?:)

The league office controls the jerseys' style and color. They are the ones that sign the contracts with the manufacturers/suppliers, NOT the individual teams. Teams can submit ideas for league approval but they cannot override the league office if that approval is not received. I suspect, although I don't know for sure, that the black jerseys would be very popular with every team that has black as part of their color scheme. For that reason, I think the league limits the number of teams that can have black jerseys at the same time.

The league allowed the gold jerseys just like they allowed the trash bag liner jerseys for the Mavericks. Why? I don't think they care if the jerseys look good or not. I think the main consideration is financial. New jerseys mean increased sales of jerseys, at least on paper. Alternate jerseys are, after all, primarily for the fans to spend money on.
