Seriously, he has had his stretches, but, oddly enough, his times that he struggles coincides with the times that we, as a team, struggle. Which is what happens, I suppose, when you build a team around one player who has a history of playing well in only one half of games as a rule*
This is a TEAM game. What has made us great in the past is our TEAM play. I'm not seeing enough of that yet. Peja, by himself, is not good enough to carry us anywhere. Peja, as part of the Kings TEAM, could be, provided he gets enough help.

Peja definitely looked good tonight, but clearly not good enough to carry the team on his shoulders, which should be the question if you want to give a player the max. If we had any player on our team who could do that, we would be contending. If a player is worth the max, his team should not struggle when he is surrounded by 4 borderline all-stars. (or, guys who have played at the level of borderline all stars in their careers)
