[Game] Thunder vs. Kings - Feb 12

Who has the ball at the end? Tyreke. He runs nothing. He milks the clock until it's too late so he can just jack up a 3 or a fading jump shot.

Really? Were you on the court next to him, and didn't hear him call anything? Or were you sitting next to Westy, and didn't hear him call anything? Did you see Omri fail to get open and break free of Durant, when Tyreke was looking for him on the wing? You don't think it would help if Tyreke was playing with 4 guys who knew how to close out quarters and games, instead of guys who are learning how to do it with him? You need to learn to look past the player with the ball.

Guess we cant talk about anything since none of us are on the court then. Great point. Let's just close this forum up for all non court posters.

Obviously every post is an imo post. If you wanna play this card, you may as well go to every single thread and copy paste the same excuse you're throwing. But yeah, let's keep cutting them slack.

Man, if Landry put the effort into getting D-boards that he put into O-boards, he'd average at least 8 rebs per game.

I don't have any official numbers, but Casspi's 3pt shooting percentage has to be abysmal when it he doesn't get a clean pass. It seems that whenever he has to shift his body, duck down, or anything of that nature, he misses the shot. He shoots it so quickly that it seems to throw off the shot. During those times, I wish he'd pass up the shot.

What also hurts him is his low release. I can't think of a lower release from another perimeter player in the league. Most of his shots don't have much arc, so less of a chance to go in. I really hope he re-works his stroke this summer, and works to change his release point.

So did Tyreke call that ball off foot play at the end of the 2nd, or was that PW's call? Lol, 2 quarters in a row. Love the apologists.

I'm half venting, if that makes you feel any better.

Durant on target for 40 plus. Heck, Westbrook on target for 30 plus. Would going to a zone work - at least some of the time? Maybe 3-2 zone with Reke, Donte, Omri up top and Daly and DMC underneath?

There was nothing the matter wiht that play...except the execution. The Thunder came out high to trap him, left a gap. Spitting it is a fairly standard response, and the gap looked big enough.

And the first quarter one was clearly a broken play when Omri didn't get open. Jeter handled too onthat one but we apparently did not have a backup option.

Not knowing how to run an end of the quarter play is not the same thing as us just not converting on them. Some of the problems we were having earlier in the year with guys shooting shots with 12 seconds left in the quarter and stuff were not knowing how to run an end of quarter play. Merely missing the shot is not. You'll note the Thunder's play to end the half resulted in a miss as well...just got the o-reb to save it.

I would say trying somethig different than having Omri guard him 1 on 1 is warranted. That was jsut stupid. No Donte. no doubles. No traps. No zone. Duh. Is this result some sort of shocker to our coaching staff?

He dribbled the ball off his foot. Wasn't a bad play. Dribbling the ball off your foot has nothing to do with the coach. So now I see you're calling out Tyeke for dibbling the ball of his foot. He made a mistake. You expect 2nd yr players to not make mistakes?

Well, you could see the writing on the wall for this one. With PG and SF being our weakest positions on D its no surprise to me that Westbrook and Durant are killing us. Reke isnt fast enough to stay in front of Westbrook either. No one else is really hurting us.

What bothers me is that the Thunder keep going to there dominant matchups. We have one clear cut advantage and that is Cousins in the POST against Kristic. We didnt go to it early and we arent going to it now. Stop giving him the ball up top, park him down low and feed it in there. And have guys cut to the rim at full speed .. us walking through the offense isnt helping. No urgency.

We dont look like we think we can beat them.

Is it just me or do the Kings take a higher percentage of really bad/wild shots than any other team?

Maybe, but there's a big reason for it. Of course they're young and inexperienced but biggest reason IMO is how slow they can get into their offense. Only Beno (and Jeter) seems to push it up hard to get max amount of seconds remaining on the clock. Everyone else is slow up court and too much dribbling with shot clock running down.

Now our rebounding advantage and out on the break is having some positive results. As long as OKC is missing shots and Kings are not taking ball out of the basket and slowly walking up court we're in this game. GO KINGS!

Well, thank god for our hugeness. We can make up for a lot of our mistakes when we crash the boards as hard as we have been for most of the season. One definite plus we have seen this year.
