Thomas Kinkade thought for the day

I received a nice day-to-day desk calendar with a drawing by Thomas Kinkade on each page. Along with the drawing there is a "thought for the day" type thing.

Corny? Yeah, but I think some of them are worth sharing... Not for everyone, to be sure, but I think some of the more sentimental among us might enjoy them.

Yesterday's was:

Wednesday, Jan. 5 - Approach every day of your life with dedication, as though you were an ambassador of a better world.

Today's is:

Thursday, Jan. 6 - Even in the shadows I can discern the gleam of goodness, and possibility.

Ah, I can take the purple slippers to work and scan them, rhuber. I just don't have a scanner at home...

And Prophetess? EXCELLENT suggestion!!!!!

:D

You can call it whatever you like. You can like it or dislike it as you so desire, something about beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all. Why on earth you would choose to chime in with that little comment, however, semi-escapes me?

It's a comment, my observation of TK's work. But it isn't popular so that's probably why you choose to see it as negative?

(from VF21 the person, NOT the moderator)

gina - I commented that I received what I feel was a very nice gift. And I'm sharing the "thoughts for the day" - If you don't like Thomas Kinkade or his works, more power to you. You'll probably want to skip right over this thread in the future because I intend to continue to share the "thoughts for the day" and, if I get a scanner, I may just share the pictures.

Friday, Jan. 7:

We were never meant to lose our playful spirit as we reach adulthood.

Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 8-9

My fundamental focus flows naturally into the priorities of my life.

Monday, Jan. 10

Learning to say no to what you don't need really begins with learning to say yes to what you have.

And happy birthday today to MY MOM!!

:D

Tuesday, Jan. 11

I have discovered time and again in my own life that any real and lasting change begins with a vision.

Bricklayer - Go away. Go away now and do not return.

Period.

I cannot permit you to pre-post the thoughts for the day and steal my thunder!!!!!!!

WTF??? ;)

ROFLMAO! Somehow I think this TK thought of the day would change Gina's mind about the "artiste". :D

Honestly Brick, thanks for the laugh...I really needed one to come up out of the belly and double me over, this post did it! :D

Wednesday, Jan. 12:

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever. Its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness. -- John Keats

Thursday, Jan. 13:

I wanted, through my art and through my life, to make somebody else's life a little better and brighter.

Saturday/Sunday, Jan. 15-16:

Every moment, in fact, we have the opportunity to open another tiny package in the gift of our days.

I apologize for missing yesterday's. I ripped it off, tossed it in the wood stove and then realized I hadn't posted it.

Oops.

:o

It's hard to take yourself too seriously when you're laughing at yourself - gently and with love.

It made my life a lot darker once I saw his art.

;)

Tuesday, Jan. 14:

The act of expressing my thanks to someone else actually makes me feel more grateful.

Sorry. Been busy...

Here you go:

Wednesday, Jan. 19:

The pleasures of the senses, too, contribute to a romantic life.

I LOVE THIS NEXT ONE:

Thursday, Jan. 20:

I urge you, therefore, to resist the temptation always to play it safe.

Friday, Jan. 21:

You romance your own life by paying attention to what kinds of experiences bring you energy and inspiration.

Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23:

One of the most fruitful "creative" sources in my life is people.

Sorry for the lapse. I'll try to do better.

;)

Oh please. This coming from a man who always paints houses and bridges. Can't stand that guy.
