Try to look at the world you encounter every day as though you had just arrived from another planet.

As far as your second post, you brought up some excellent points (see I can admit that without attacking you). You're right, I could very well start a thread about someone I like but it would be a waste of time (much like my participation in this thread).
So, continue to wrap your brain around TK's profound world of bridges and houses and I'll go elsewhere.
gina said:I think it's sad that most Americans can't name one living great American artist and their only exposure to art is some moron named Thomas Kinkade.
His wife's name is Nancy, and he includes an "N" somewhere in each of his pieces. Commonly it's on a structure (mailbox, door frame, chimney, etc.)Prophetess said:i have to admit I don't. what is it?
I bought a metalic piece of his in a Salvation Army last year, thought maybe I could get into it. I couldn't, the metalic didn't help.VF21 said:Just so you know? The picture for today is of a sidewalk cafe in what definitely appears to be a quaint French village. The pavement is wet, as though after a recent rain. It is NOT the typical house-bridge image TK is known for. In fact, there has been a nice variety of pictures already on this calendar that stray from his usual depictions.
See the heart hanging from the lightpost in the pic? That's probably where the "N" is.Prophetess said:http://www.victorianfarmhouse.com/kinkade.htm
if you want a decent bed & breakfast, the owners are really nice. It was a pleasant place to stay. I mention it purely because AFTER my fiance and I went there, I found out it was "Home is where the Heart is II"
thanks albeit.
No! Way too unreal with the light, never happen. For me to enjoy, it either has to be very realistic or way abstract (Picasso, etc.). I have a pic I took of a double rainbow over the ocean that looks totally unreal, but...it's a pic and it is real.Prophetess said:does this help?
Prophetess said:I felt the need to address this. I enjoy many different artists, Kinkade among them. My aunt and uncle are artists, I have dated artist, my aunt is also an art teacher, so my exposure to all different types of art has been probably, above average. For the record, I also enjoy Dali, Monet, Rembrandt, Renoir, Dunne, Matisse, Warhol, Flack, Raffael, Adams, Hildebrandt, Whelan, Gogh, Kandinski, Pratt, I could go on, but I thnk I made my point. There are also a few that noone will probably ever hear of whose art I thouroughly enjoy.
