... I’m sure they’ve got something planned for her but she went from a relatively long NXT title reign straight into reaching the finals of Queen of the Ring, something that not even most of the big name signings who got fast tracked through NXT ever did. In a way she’s having her Austin Theory randomly getting the Vince mandated push out of sheer desperation moment.
I've got to beg to differ with this. Take a closer look at that Raw women's roster: unless they were planning to pull the trigger on a Zoey Stark heel/face turn (and she's blander than bland, IMO, and not as good a wrestler as Valkyria), Lyra was the least objectionable alternative to come out of the Raw bracket. I mean, they weren't going to go heel/heel in the final. Who else should have gotten the spot, Maxxine?

What's funny about all this is that Nia has been en fuego since her return, and this was the smart booking choice, preferences be damned.

And I still don't know why someone who likes good wrestling wouldn't like Lyra Valkyria?
There’s so many wrestlers that are just good. Lyra is technically excellent. But I don’t care. Not even a little. She needs to bring more than bird wings and good technical skills.

I don't know which bothered me more, or which I find more annoying: that Liv Morgan (whom I'm not a fan of) won the title, or that a women's title changed hands because of interference from a man whom neither woman was feuding with, on behalf of a woman who's out indefinitely due to injury? Like, what's the payoff here? As Big Dust might have asked, where is the money?
Liv and Dom hookup, (seeds have been planted backstage and Liv had his bandana in her pocket the other week).

Rhea becomes super-face upon the turn, Dom becomes somehow even a scuzzier heel and elevates Liv with him.

So the payoff is an intergender match? Rhea versus Dom?
Dom is like the one guy that can probably get away with wrestling a woman without it looking bad as a twenty first century concept thanks to his whole 50% less serious Eddie Guerrero shtick . It would also probably be a squash with Rhea beating the ever loving hell out of him anyways

I don’t see why not. I think those two could pull something really fun out.
Not for me, Clive. I've never been here for intergender matches. That's why I can't get into a lot of indie wrestling: intergender matches will cause me to mentally check out, every time. Like, my favorite wrestler of the Attitude Era was Chyna, and I didn't even like it when she was wrestling men.

Then again, I also never really saw Chyna wrestle against a man who was her size or smaller, so who knows? Even men who were her height outweighed her by at least forty pounds... Maybe a Peak!Chyna versus Rey Mysterio match would have hit different?

During Josh Briggs's promo the other week I wondered wtf had happened with Brooks Jensen, there was a lot of reference to their partnership but him going solo and now he had to get back to business. Ok. He's kinda boring what about the other guy?

So I did a little digging and noticed Jensen's twitter was pretty erratic and there was even some sheets that fell for him being released but looks like it's all part of an elaborate work and I'm definitely here for it.

Oh when the guy is hashtagging himself acting like an alcoholic with WWE tags it seemed very clearly to be a work but it's still fun (also one of those cases where you're genuinely happy that it is a story, and hopefully only a story).
Perhaps. I be missing out on tons of context; I don't pay attention to much of anything in wrasslin' that's not happening between the bells. I'm more of a workrate mark... Maybe that's why me and @SLAB's tastes differ so much: he be all about look and vibes and s***, and I just be like, "But can they wrestle, though?"

I'm somewhere in the middle. Or just even variety within a 2 hour show.

Meh.

I like Shayna Baszler and I don't like Lola Vice, and I also think that Shayna would obliterate Lola in a shoot fight, so I didn't like the booking of that match at all.

Really didn’t think they were going to let Dana Brooke show up on a WWE show again.

that was fun overall but yeah didn’t quite like the ending. Also props to people who choose to wear earrings during contact sports because ewww

That ending sucked for a couple of reasons:

  1. Screwjob finishes are always awful; doubly so when a match was cooking like that.
  2. The money was in a Jordynne/Roxanne rematch. Nobody's paying to see Jordynne defend the Knockouts title against Tatum Paxley, or whatever the **** her name is. In fact, nobody currently in NXT is a big enough deal to be a credible threat to Jordynne except Roxanne.

After finishing I agree the finish of the Women's main event was cheap and overall I give this a 4/10. NXT is generally my favorite promotion because of the pacing of the weekly shows and it is fun without taking itself too seriously. But I seriously hated the booking of this - outside of Trick winning I don't think I was particularly happy about anything that happened and Trick should not have been in a match against Ethan Page. Why?

Also after being completely boring before getting hurt Sol Ruca has really grown on me so I was hoping despite all the too obvious hype she'd get it, but of all people to give the new Women's belt too they picked the most generic wrestler in the batch?
