I am not sure why some people think that the world has ended last night. Things could be back to square one by the end on Sunday night..... I really think it is very likely that we'll wake up Monday morning with series being tied 2-2....
Call me optimist, call me idiot.... call me whatever - but Sonics have not exactly been excellent in this first round -- Kings were BAD... And I really don't see them being that bad at home! So let's not give up just yet, okay?!

Denver is playing with a passion with new players and with a new coach, and look at them beat the favorites on their floor. No excuses man, this cohesion thing only goes so far. The team lacks a superstar that can carry this team, and Peja or Bibby are not that person. If coaches make no difference then why does Karl come into a team thats stinkin up the joint and all of a sudden make things happen. Adelman is as stale as a two day old industrial coffee for pete's sake. Just my take.

Karl is doing a good job and changed the tempo. They also added better role players on the bench like Nahera who I dispise. I guess you can blame this all on Adelman, but is it really his fault everyone is injured. It even took Denver a couple of games under Karl to adjust. We are trying to adjust against a very good team who if healthy for the whole season could have won 58 or 59 games. We could have done simiarily with Webber or with the new crew + bobby and brad. Thing is we weren't. Seattle is healthy, we aren't. Seattle's players missed 8 games (Lewis) and Vlade (a bunch). Brad and Vlade are honestly both playing pretty well considering. But the team isn't the same and it's tough. I hate making up excuses, but the Sonics so far have looked like the better team. You act like this same Sonics team didn't annhilate us what the 5th game of the season.

His Fg% was better than some, and we were winning. Could we use a guy who could hit a big shot lately? Chris hit more than a few this year. Our defense looks just about as bad as it did...and the sixers are playing the world champs, and we are playing...seattle. The Kings helped Chris, no doubt... but Chris helped the Kings. If we get run bad by Seattle here, there is little reason to be happy. It will have to be a sweet offseason. Just don't try to say this team is better than they were before, the truth is being told.
You know, Webb is a game changer. His passion and energy and desire are sorely missed. Not just his game, which is great, but his attitude. We walked off that court last night totallyl dejected, and who is the locker room cheerleader that's going to motivate us? Right now we are missing Webb, Vlade, and Christie as a unifying force, so I hope each player can find the motivation within themselves. At least we are coming home... Arco should be good for a win or two.

I believe we can still win this series, but it will be an uphill battle. Either way, we all know this is not a championship team. We had a slim chance with Webb because the team had so much talent, had played together for so long, and wanted it. That chance evaporated with the trade. We can only hope that it will be a good trade in the long term, and that the off season is productive.

Keep Bibby, Miller, Bobby, Skinner, get rid of everyone else.....hope Petrie can work his magic and "steal" some quality players. Fire Rick, hire a defensive minded coach.

The only coach I like a lot other then Rick Adelman is Rick Carliste. But the rotation is not there because Adelman never really got to play with the full line-up much during the regular season. I'm sure the Kings will be restless this off-season, but we are not really doing all that bad. We're not the Kings of old.

Did anyone hear a FAT LADY SING? I have not. And until then, I am behind the Kings 100%. Do I expect them to win the Championship-No. DO I expect them to play their hearts out-Yes.

Expansion Team??? HA! Bibby, Peja, Miller, Cuttino=Expansion? WOW. Remember folks, this is the playoffs. There are other teams that did not make them. Remember??? These are the elite 16 out the entire league. Wake up. By making the playoffs, they are CONTENDERS.

okay i know they said last night that kings and contenders wont be in the same sentence since trading webb, but i can garenty you that with in a couple of years, that will not be an issue. the kins will be a contender again, its just going to take some time.

umm, the current Kings roster does not have the talent as last years Lakers. Its going to be a lot harder for the Kings to pull this off. (if at all)

Also, the Lakers realized all they needed to do was stop Tony Parker. Frieken everyone on the Sonics is balling. We need to stop all of them.

I never agree with a WINDOW what a worthless statement.

The trades have been done, people need to get over them.

Its always excuses with the Kings:

Trades
New Players
Injuries
Refs
"need to step it up on D"

One excuse I will listen to and that is Heart. This team as is now doesn't have it.

If a "window" is all that is standing in the way of a Kings Championship, the I say bust the glass, break in and take the trophy before the cops show up! :D

Doubt it will be that drastic or that grim. I do worry that without coming up with another superstar type player that we never will get that elusive ring, but I have a feeling that unless we decide to entirely blow it up and rebuild from the ground up with youth, that we are going to try to rebuild on the fly here this summer and put together another contender as early as next year, superstar or no superstar. May or may not work. But I suspect that's what all of these midlevel contracts and midlevel players are about. Combine 'em, trade 'em, mix n' match. My bigger question would just be how dramatic is Geoff willing to go. Is he willing to go Richmond trade dramatic? Or is he planning to hang onto the core and make smaller deals around the edges?
Thats what I worry about too. We need that Shaq, or that Duncan, or that KG that we can put Bibby, Miller, Mobley, Peja around... with Jackson, Skinner, Thomas, Songaila, Williamson, etc coming off the bench. That would be a nice team. We need that superstar and who knows how long it will take to get one or even if Geoff is willing to go out and disrupt the core of guys we have now to get a superstar. In reality we dont NEED a superstar... but thats when you have a defensive unit like Detroit where they really dont have a "superstar" but instead a group of defensive players. Thats what we need but instead we have a group of shooters with no defense. I think Geoff needs to try and keep the core we have now to try and keep us in the playoffs but he also needs to start trading and picking up guys who will come and help win us a championship with our defense. Sure everyone likes the offense that the Kings have had over the years but thats not what wins it all. I have faith and dont want to loose Bibby and Peja especially since they have been around the longest as well as Jackson but We need to keep Miller and if Mobley cant be more effective throughout the WHOLE game... well maybe its time he goes. This is surely going to be a crazy offseason and next couple of years... I just dont even know where to start... We need a defensive superstar!

Yah its tough... Its hard to explain what needs to be done from our perspective since we are only the fans but Im sure we wont be in "rebuilding mode" as long as the Knicks and Warriors have been.

BUT!! I just had a BRILLIANT idea... What if the Maloofs moved the franchise? Im not talking about the rumor move to Las Vegas but how about a move to the East coast... Then we could be in the east and have a better shot at making it to the finals and we would make the playoffs because you can practically have a .500 record and make it. :) Personally I think it would work... just a thought though. hehe :p

The Kings had that superstar, they traded him away for Kenny Thomas, Brian Skinner, and Corliss Williamson.

The only problems with that was that the Kings would never have those complimentary players that you need because the entire cap revolves around 3 players. Miller, Bibby, and Webber.

I have thought about it and thought about it, and thought some more and I still can't figure out what we need. Part of me says to shake everything up this summer and make MAJOR changes. The other part of me is still too emotionally attached to the "core" players that we have left to even think about them not playing in a King's uniform. This year has been hard enough with the players we have lost. I've had just decided to trust that Petrie already has a masterplan that he started unfolding with Doug's trade. At least I hope he has a plan because I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE!!

When a GM makes the kind of moves Petrie made in this season he most certainly has a clue as to what he is doing. I am sure that in the last offseason there was a game plan and it started with not re-signing Vlade. The next phase of the process was to move the two bigger contracts they were on the hook for in Doug and Webber. I don't see Bibby, Peja, or Miller moving unless they get a HUGE star in return, so I think Petrie will either make noise in the draft by trading up or make trades to fill out some spots, i.e. SG and PF. This process may actually continue until the trade deadline of next season.

What?

I assume Piksi was refering to the '03 version of WEBB. He did have superstar numbers that year. I don't refer to him as a legit superstar though.

When I think of superstars I think of the obvious names and Webb is not a name that comes to mind.

As far as the 03/05... Again I am assuming your talking about Webb... So your saying the Webb we had this year was of superstar quality? Just trying to clear things up so I can set up my reply...
