Availability is a skill. Recurring foot issues for a big man is a bad sign.
And I thought his injury at Duke was a sign that he wouldn't match the hype. Hype that was largely his own marketing team's doing. And he began signals he wanted out of NO after the first season. I really did not like the guy but multiple surgeries? I don't like that. His weight issues are his own thing though. Should have a nutritionist or something sorting that out.
And if you're a big big man, you might want to think about the weight that you're placing on those feet.

Yea, man. Makes you question how much dude loves the game. A very surprising fact from Hali's recent article in the player's tribune is the relationship between the Kings video coordinator and Hali. Hali said:
"Before I knew it, friends started arriving at the house to check in on me — IY (our video coordinator and one of my best friends)..."
That Hali vision is a byproduct of film study. Low hoops IQ usually = a lack of film study.

The timing of the trade deadline is both a blessing and a curse for the Kings. Had it happened 10 games sooner we might have a better record and be in a better position to make the play in and more importantly build moment for next season. On the other hand, with the tough schedule and the surprising play of the Blazers and others we are still positioned to get a high pick. I’m torn, a good pick would compliment out team but on the other hand, if we finish 7-17 or something how much hope would we have with a Fox Sabonis core?

yeah except it won’t be a high pick. It will be in the 8-10 range that Monte excels at hitting.
Yeah, I'm not concerned with Wins and Losses this season, moreso just improved play. It's hard to expect an immediate turn-around with so much turnover mid-season from a franchise. McNair kept the future flexiblity for a reason; so we wouldn't have to be all-in on making the play-in this year, but rather starting the clock game 1 of next season.
If we get the play results from the last 4 games, I'd be happy. 2-2, had a chance to win 3 of the games, played pretty good in 3 of the games. And a top pick remains the best way for this franchise to truly transform; that was the case with Hali and it's going to be the case with Sabonis.
